Where will your first turns of the 2020/2021 ski season be?

Add me to the list for Wachusett. I'm so happy I got my season pass in July. I have a bronze pass, so I'll be there under the lights. Looks like I can't go till Sunday. (Adulting sucks- I have work on Saturday.) Hope to see some of you out there!

Skiing on the cheap - 2019-2020

I tried to snag a couple of tickets today, but their website is having difficulties. I was greeted by this message: "Sorry for any inconvenience, we are experiencing technical difficulties with our sales platform and will be closing the sales until we fix the problem. We will have the "Buy...

    Tenney

It seems that Tenny has had a tough go of it. If I get to ski there, I'll be happy to put my $$ into the kitty that keeps this area from NELSAP. Sometimes the little guys have a hard row to hoe and just need some support before the flowers bloom. I wish them all the best.

Yeah, I may steer clear of that!

    Advice for a beginner ski

Thank you! That is helpful advice. My skis are that old! I've had the Marker bindings on them checked out and I'm told that they're safe- for now. I did leave the "old planks" to get sharpened and waxed until at least Wachusett is open for skiing and I can demo a few new ones. I did have a...

    Advice for a beginner ski

I have, but i'm not really close to any ski shops other than Wachusett, not to mention that the cost of a season rental is pretty high. I also don't want to be locked into one ski for the season- I want to try a bunch of them and then make my decision for a purchase. Do season rentals normally...

    Haystack / Hermitage news

Regardless of what options these folks choose, it's still sad to see a perfectly good ski area sit idle. It's even more frustrating to know that it was the fault of poor financial decisions. I'll never have the kind of money that lets me have a second home in ski country, but if I did and was in...

    Advice for a beginner ski

Can anyone recommend a good ski for a beginner? I really hate the used skis I got last year. They're old and very stiff, and I always feel out of control. Any advice for a n00b? (I'm skiing on 20 plus year old Elan parabolic skis. Don't know the exact model and right now they're out being...

just finalized my western trips plans

Yeah, there is no way my boss will let me have 2 full weeks! I can take a long weekend here and there though.

just finalized my western trips plans

KustyTheKlown, since you travel so much with your ski gear, care to offer any packing tips for a n00b? Is it a pain in the arse to fly with skis?

Advice: beginner ski lessons near Boston

I would highly recommend Wachusett. I took a lesson there and they were AMAZING. My best friend chucked me out on the bunny slope and I instantly ate snow, but the instructors got me going within minutes. At the time I went up there, they had a bring-a-friend package where my lovable idiot of a...

Skiing on the cheap - 2018-19

I'm sorry if this has been posted before. Today I got my season pass to Wachusett for less than the early bird rate. Go here: https://www.wachusett.com/Tickets-Passes/Groups/GPS-Club.aspx Click on the pass you need to add to your cart. Proceed to checkout. When it asks you for the group...

Back surgery is awful, but hopefully you'll recover quickly.

    Killington Closing Juggernaut

The birds always win. I have a summer place on Cape Cod, and every year we lose more beach and fishing holes to a stupid bird called the Piping Plover. Now I have another bird I don't like.

Your goals for next season 18/19?

I'm late to this thread, but whatever. Goals for 2018/2019: 1) Get in some sort of shape that isn't round 2) Ski once a week at least 3) figure out how to work this glasses/goggles thing! 4) TAKE A SKI VACATION for once, even if it's a weekend at Cannon. 5) Ski at 3 new mountains I'm sure...
