Day ticket rates vs Pass Prices

Yes, they have done away with demand-based pricing, which is how I used to shop for skiing, as it were. I guess by definition I was a low-profit customer and therefore of marginal value, but I still question the wisdom of the model and whether it is sustainable, especially in the NE market.

Day ticket rates vs Pass Prices

We have friends nearby. But it's still better than anything in southern PA, and the ticket was, as many have pointed out, $23.

Day ticket rates vs Pass Prices

It's not just walk-up prices that have become much more expensive - my experience is that even advance purchase discounts have essentially disappeared, at least at Vail-owned. Two years ago it was possible to ski at Okemo during fringe season weekdays for $60 purchasing a few days in advance...

    Season over :(

So sorry to hear about his, and it sounds like you were put through an real ordeal of pain. I haven't done the arm, but thought I would chime in with sympathy and broken ankle rehab experience. Be very methodical with your rehab. You may after a long while get to a point where it feels much...

    Cool Ski Rack

True, but cumulative hours spent on the rack vs. on the hill are just a bit different!

    Cool Ski Rack

Anyone have an opinion on the claim that having the Rocker-style hardware where the skis are hung individually instead of both being suspended between a single pair of dowels helps preserve the original rocker/camber? I've often wondered about that.

    Saddleback

Sad thing is that all the approaches to Rangeley were resurfaced just a few years ago. Long, frigid winters and logging trucks take a toll.

    Saddleback

I definitely would not want lifts at the top of Saddleback, or the AT relocated - that's one of the most spectacular ridge walks in the east. I was referring facetiously to the conveyor tunnel at Snowbird that connect the front side to Mineral Basin.

    Saddleback

Great terrain on the other side of the ridge, but can't string lifts to the top - didn't Snowbird have the same issue? They solved it - maybe Saddleback could do the same!

Also being sued by Perry Williams, one of the Rangeley locals who was formerly involved with the project. https://www.pressherald.com/2018/03/15/former-employee-files-suit-against-prospective-saddleback-resort-buyer/

    Need some Okemo info

Spent Monday and Tuesday at Okemo, and I can testify to this. I was almost exclusively at Jackson Gore and Solitude and about the only trails at JG that were not bumped were BlueMoon/Lower Limelight, Quantum and and Tuckered. The Plunge at Solitude and upper Timberline were also all bumps. I...

    Saddleback

http://http://majellagroup.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi Since the announcement in last summer, the official "saddlebackmaine.com" website had a message from Majella. That URL now leads to an "Account Suspended" page. This is the case for the entire Majella Group site, which used to be pretty...

Vermont Contractor's truck destroyed and tools stolen

I would have some hope that this will be solved quickly and the perpetrators caught. If the stolen tools are publicly identified, then it may be difficult to sell them on CL or wherever. Locals will be on the lookout.
