Yep, we're from the city. Our friends from Boston introduced us to AZ, and now we're headed to Sugarloaf in a couple weeks! Where in LI are you? Ride shares would be great.

Was just in Tahoe and I can commiserate with your friend. NO SNOW! Then went to Canyons and Snowbird the next week... same thing. The night before we left? Heavy snow started to fall. Just not in my cards. Looking forward to riding the next couple weekends with some *fingers crossed* freshies.

It seems hard to judge what 'thin cover' actually means too until you go down the trail. Was at Sierra in Tahoe back in December, and took a trail marked thin cover -- though essentially the entire mountain was thin cover because there's been no snow... :/ Aside from some patches of dirt here...

For the Sugarloaf Apres/Nightlife experts: curious what the music situation is like. Live music, DJs?

Hi all! Also new here. I grew up in Alaska, but only ever went skiing a few times as a kid. Started learning how to snowboard 4.5 years ago and fell in love with it -- after a couple years of falling and finally figuring out how to turn. :) Also going up to AZ Summit with a merry band of NYers...
