Homeowner pulls shotgun on snowboarder by Brighton

Maybe the snowboarder did a 90 degree side cut without looking over his shoulder…

    Ski Recommendations

This thread has some solid recs. I’m similar to OP in experience, but enjoy some bumps and trees. I also spend 90% of my time skiing with my young kids, who are basically all groomers. Currently skiing J ski masterblasters, but at 99 under foot it’d be nice to have something thinner when I...

    Lift holds for Cold

Went for it yesterday with the crew. The sunrise lift was the only operating lift for the day, which is fair for them to consolidate mountain ops and patrollers. Mostly calm winds and sunshine helped, not exactly why we chose Stowe but what can ya do? Here’s hoping we avoid these temps from...

    Lift holds for Cold

Thanks for this. We are all getting in around midday - will asses and then make a call. Seems likely that more closures will happen, but we’ll see. Saturday we’re going for it, hoping for those winds to calm down over night.

    Lift holds for Cold

Did chair spin on that day? Unfortunately Sunday is out. We’re all dads flying solo for Friday and Saturday with families to get home to on Sunday. That’s life, hopefully we’ll get some turns in, but we’ll have fun either way.

    Lift holds for Cold

This makes sense. Not sure how vail resorts will respond since they have people outside checking passes. Can’t imagine that’ll be a popular job Friday and Saturday.

    Lift holds for Cold

Yeah I’m not worried about me, I’m worried they will actually stop lifts because of cold.

    Lift holds for Cold

I’ve got a trip to Stowe planned for Friday and Saturday of this weekend, been in the books for 5 months, can’t refund the condo, etc. So of course it’s going to be cripplingly cold during the window we are supposed to ski. Does anyone know at what temps they’ll hold lifts? I know the concern...

Anyone try the Hand Out Pro Gloves?

Big fan of my FTPs, removable liner is clutch. https://www.freethepowder.com/

Destination Ski trips and the high associated costs for Flights, Hotels, Transport & Mountain ticket comparison & Suggestions.

We skied Northstar over Christmas and did an Airbnb in Tahoe City. Franciscan lodge would’ve been fine and inexpensive as well. But there are tons of motels in the area. If you are South Lake, I’ve heard the casinos are cheap because gambling. I’ll anticipate state 3- we rented a 4WD using...

    New Member Introductions Thread

Thanks for the welcome (although I’ve lived here for 18 years). We did SR during my first season and it was great, but totally unappreciated in my greenness. I need to get back up and explore SR, Saddleback, and the Loaf.

    New Member Introductions Thread

Hi, been lurking for a while and decided to join. Been skiing 3 years (grew up in Houston), and have fallen in love with it. I’m currently better than my 6 & 8 yos, but suspect that will change soon. Most of our time we are at sunapee and Mt. Snow.
