Are you at..where you want to be

Agreed. I noticed an improvement the last 2 times that I bought skis. I think that I wasted 25 years on racer type boards. I never needed the speed and enjoy the flexiness in the trees and the light-weightness over the course of the day. I am 62 and have never been more comfortable running fresh...

    AT setup vs downhill setup

I skied AT skis (Garmont/Fritschi) inbounds for 3 years and was happy. last year I went back to downhill boots/bindings and was quite surprised at the extra control. Forgot/didn't know what I was missing. I think all would agree that AT won't last as long inbounds regardless how tough it is...

Man up. Store your stuff properly. Enjoy the next season and double down on skiing when it is time. There is no crying in skiing!

Is SKIMRV lost and gone forever? It was a nice resource for local knowledge.

Looking for intel on Warren Gap

Thanks for the quick response. I think that the mud is slipperier than snow. It will be frozen in the am, but ruts tell me that bethel mt rd might be smarter thanks

Looking for intel on Warren Gap

I am daytripping to Sugarbush Sat morning early and the Gap should still be frozen. Is the road open? I know it will be sloppy on the way home. Thanks for sharing. Mike

Does Mad River Scare You a Little? NO!

I do agree with the image problem, for instance, a few weeks ago when I was planning this trip and told my gf we'd be going there, the first thing out of her mouth was, "will I be able to ski there?" Turns out she absolutely loved it, even though there were moguls on quite a bit of the...

Where to stay near the Loaf

I am considering a weekend trip to sugarloaf and am looking for experience on where to stay. Money counts. I am looking for something spartan near the fun. Fri/Sat nite. Any recommended dinner and drinks establishments would be a bonus. Thanks a million for sharing any experience, knowledge or...

Advice on having a baby and balancing skiing

My first kid was life changing and I (we) did not ski for 5 years. You will see the time vacuum. Subsequent kids I got away to ski some. Started up again in earnest when they could come with us.

Looking for ski advice for my dad (low intermediate 3x a year skier)

Light and flexy RTM's will be too much work. I wasted my time on stiff skis for 30 years. Fischer Watea comes to mind. Good edge hold, light for new hop and stamina. It will make him a better skier. This guy is no racer.

Ski swap season is coming, but I don't care is if get any money. I asked in this space a couple of years ago and not much...

    60 year old beginner skateboarder.........

I am 58 and ride a long board slalom course down my street. Been doing it since before long boards. The road is smooth and has a nice crown and width that allows me to control speed. I have no idea how this translates to snowboarding since I am a devoted skier.
