I personally wouldn't go near that lodge on a Saturday. 😜

Jay Peak Thread (New owners, New Future)

So now after (nearly) the second full season, how has ownership under PGRI been? When the sale was announced and there was a lot of concern I mentioned that if Jay is managed anything like Ragged (left alone from above), things should be fine. Curious to hear how it went.

Mike tends to use hyperbole to support his arguments. They have no method of determining whether they made more snow on SS this year vs other years other than intuition. That feed does not have its own flow meter nor did they have snow depth technology on the cats prior to the last couple years.

    Ski Wax and PFAS Contamination

Damn we used to use Fluoro like Dominator all the time in the 90s, no respirator. There was Swix low and high Fluoro too. It was reserved for race days due to cost and we used Hydro for training and everything else.

    Jay Peak bombshell

As soon as you get into a 6 pack (even without any other profile changes to mitigate wind) the lift by nature already can operate in substantially windier conditions due to weight. Many operators are installing them even when a quad would be sufficient capacity wise due to this benefit. I...

A ton of snow left on June 1st? πŸ€” They'll keep going on SS as long as possible despite the bean counters prematurely shuttering other portions of the mountain.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Inverness has been a GMVS "dedicated pod" for decades, it is nothing new. Certainly when I went there in the mid-90s it was the same as today. We had both trails and our Poma then, they have their T-Bar(s) and the same two trails now. If there were more trails (with snowmaking) the pod most...

Yep, Inverness and Brambles can easily be circumvented and not effect GMVS or the weekend programs should they ever expand above the current pod. I don't see it happening anytime soon. ME has a far undersized snowmaking system as it is.

The only changes happening to the K-1 area will be a possible top terminal for a future transfer lift from the Village which as others mention will be at RH/Snowshed.

    Summer 2024 improvements

I think it will be OK. Out of all the Low E, the Impulse guns have the best throw if that is your concern. There are several things they can do to keep that the case like replacing the stock Venturi valves to always maintain full air flow vs stepping down as you increase water flow. At full flow...

Absolutely. Sunday River installed 3 in the past decade including one last year. The delta price change going from a triple to a quad is not big but they're still used in cases where capacity doesn't warrant a quad.

No, HG is going to be a quad.

    The NEW Magic Mountain

Additional pumping capacity would help mitigate the effects of the events you describe. If you did a proper snowmaking analysis (where you break the terrain down into required snow depth, required acre/ft of snow, available equipment, gallons required and temperature buckets at that location)...
