One would think that Vail would put in a bid to "protect" their Mount Snow interests.

One would assume: Not the Sun Bowl lodge. The main base lodge has a small area in front for first arrivals, I forget if buses actually park there, but that is where they would drop them. Drive up, signs push drop off parking to right, follow the flow, can't get lost, if/when that small lot 1...

As above. My kids home mountain, she's there with the ski club every Thursday. They've put a TON of money into the mountain over the years, great to see. I too remember the Berkshire Ice days. If prevailing weather and conditions are halfway decent, the BEast is hard to bead on the fun/value...

I chose Okemo for my family vacation for this reason. My middle daughter is just a green/blue skier. Only 2 peaks, can't get too lost. Jay: LOTS of fun greens on the bottom. Be wary, IMHO the two blues from the top on either side are borderline black/black at any other mountain. Stratton...

Well, they rope the main drop-in points. Honestly last weeks rain did them in pretty good, there's enough grass/roots/rocks sticking through where even if you did drop in elsewhere its really nothing palatable at all at this point.

Stratton Glade Report 1/5/20: Nothing....but ropes. They need a good dumping to get them open.

I'm trying to get some wind reports for Sunday. Looks like we might get some good groomer cover, but gusts 25+ I'm reading. Maybe choose a smaller fixed-grip mountain?
