    Crotches 3/26

I was there last Sunday 3/25. Was also surprised to see bare spots and thin cover in some areas. Spoke to several employees who said 4/1 would be the last day due to anticipated loss of base and no staffing past Easter.

Ski NH tickets price for Cannon?

$56 IIRC & they were one of the 1st to sell out (behind Loon & Sunapee)

Pat’s Peak open an extra week - what does it signal for NE ski areas?

I was at Crotched yesterday and had the same thoughts re. crowds and conditions. I confirmed with several Crotched folks that next Sunday 4/1 is it for them. They're expecting to lose significant base this week and can't keep seasonal staffing any longer.

Pat’s Peak open an extra week - what does it signal for NE ski areas?

Over the years, Pat’s Peak has had a rigid opening & closing schedule. And from all accounts is a consistent money-maker, even in lean snow years in southern NH. That’s why their recent announcement of extending their season another week struck me as odd. Pat’s has a tried & true formula for...

    How long ya gonna go?

Had a good time today @ Crotched, next weekend’s busy with Easter crap. Shooting for 1 more day the weekend after to close out my season , possibly Loon - hopefully they’ll be able to hang on a few more weeks with higher temps & rain in the forecast. Kids have soccer but ironically the snow...

    Snow..coming ???

I was at Gunstock Saturday (3/3) and even though coverage was thin, once it softened up it was pretty pleasant. The place was a ghost-town and many staff were lamenting how dead the place was during their money-making weeks (MA & NH school vacation weeks). Also heard there are no plans to blow...

    Recovery

Was @ Loon today with the kids. Got an early start, granular & fast on many runs. Looks like they blew snow on the greens off the gondola & upper flume (can’t say I blame them- end of MA & start of NH school vacation). Runs off the Kanc skied well mid-morning, after lunch went over to South...

    Who is going to resurface?

Loon posted they are blowing snow tonight. Good timing as I'm heading there with my kids tomorrow.

Is this season worse than 2015--2016?

I've only skied once due to other commitments and lousy weather. I plan to really get my season started in a week or two, the winter weather outlook looks promising for February & into March for New England.

    Gunstock 1/21

Finally decided to kick off my season (late - due to weather & numerous other commitments) with the kids. Got an early start, 10th chair or so on the Panorama. Lapped Trigger 4x to get the legs going, trails were in good shape. Flintlock & Cannonball were nice too. Ventured over to the Pistol...

    Bretton Woods to install Gondola

I'll echo what SkiMom80 said - sometimes I just want some no-fuss groomers with my family. Yeah I know it's not the most exciting terrain, but the place is huge and you can always count on the slopes being in great shape. I've spent several days regretting a decision to ski Cannon in what turned...
