LiftBlog Reports that Smuggs and Stowe are Exploring an Interconnect Gondola

Realistically how much more life can Smuggs squeeze out of those lifts? I hadn’t been in forever and got back there in 22 and must admit they felt slower than I remembered (probably cause I’m older/softer). I don’t feel like I hear too much about them being unreliable, but probably getting to...

LiftBlog Reports that Smuggs and Stowe are Exploring an Interconnect Gondola

If it gets built, maybe vail can put Stowe/Smuggs on a super premium pass level and go with AIG era pricing… maybe 3K. Sometimes seems to be what everyone is yearning for… 2K+ passes.

    Skiology Matt in Litigation

Whoa.. yeah can't say I have followed along that closely. I just read the post on here from last year and that old VT Ski&Ride article as well. Not all that surprised given the stuff I have seen/followed. That obsessive trait is something clear as day from all of his public postings... so...

    Skiology Matt in Litigation

Somehow I missed the thread last year. He’s an amateur weather nut that does a decent enough job putting together pieces to make a forecast (though many could do that just using NWS), but his obsessive postings are too much to take for me. Despite the fact that he just started snowboarding in...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Have an annual trip coming up with some friends/family and doing sugarbush this year. SB was my first real mountain experience and logged a lot of days on the mountain over the years, but It’s been forever since I’ve been. We do a Thursday-Sunday to get in a solid weekday day on Friday. Any...

has anyone used shipskis.com or similar services?

First time I’ve seen/heard it happening and I’ve done the flight quite a few times over the years. Can definitely hustle and get in a few laps either in town at snow king or the resort.

has anyone used shipskis.com or similar services?

Something I haven’t encountered befoe on my trip to Jackson last week via the direct from EWR. A bunch of people on the flight had their ski bags come later that day/night/next day because there were too many ski bags and too much weight for the hold. I think most came on a later non direct...

has anyone used shipskis.com or similar services?

United used to have a program through FedEx that gave you a great discount on the advanced shipping which they discontinued (might have been a legacy continental thing). I’ve used ship skis before… you can sometimes find discount codes (like 20%). Worked well. Sent ahead to Jackson as I was...

    VAIL SUCKS

In my experience Stowe had gotten more conservative about opening terrain pre-vail however…. Patrol had more of laissez-faire approach to enforcement when it made sense. Now it’s conservative and heavy enforcement.

    Stowe Thread

My days at Stowe haven’t been great as I missed the good early season… but have the holiday week and one other weekend. I’d never seen less people at the mountain during that holiday week (about 10 years straight for me). Town seemed pretty packed, but the mountain was empty and it was a sneaky...

    Help with a 'Western' trip/destination

For what it’s worth I have been looking at a trip that same weekend or the one after. If coming from NYC and looking for direct to SLC your options are not as plentiful as they used to be. United flight times stink (red eye back). Some delta/jet blue options. I’ve even looked at changing...

Does it always piss hot rain right before or on Christmas in eastern ski country or does if just seem that way?

Yeah a friend said from the Luce hill fork up was all still without power last night. In more promising news he also estimated about 6 inches down in the village which would bode well for the mountain.

First Snowfalls, Upcoming weather and Storms of winter 2022-2023. Storm snow totals, Observations and Predictions?

I’m hoping northern vt can eek out some front end and a back end thump to at least help

    Bubble lift opinions

Could take or leave them.. but I always thought that part of the value prop with bubbles is that they could actually be run in higher winds due to the bubble and weight?
