    Sub-$50 lift ticket possible?

Agree about the drawback to the Bailey Falls lift not running as it opens up the mountain considerably. I've read that they needed parts, received them and were installing the parts when additional issues were identified and thus more, hard to come by parts were needed so they shut down the...

What were your best runs of the season?

Red Dog Face at Palisades. Stood by Far East/Red Dog lifts from 8;30 to 11:15 trying to figure out which lift would open first (along with lots of other folks). Turned out they got Far East cleared of the 5-7 feet that fell during the previous two days, which included a complete resort...

Favorite beginner runs in the east?

I second that. Lots of twists and turns and quite long for the length of the lift. Also liked Northstar at Ellen down to the North Ridge chair. Was always a great warmup to the day.

    Burke

Burke was GREAT! 3-4 inches of unexpected cold, dry powder was sweet. The only issue of course was it covered up a lot of rock/ice etc on some of the trails, but we explored and got in over 25k vertical, and we quit early as we had a drive up to Jay later that day. East Bowl was phenomenal...

    Cannon Lover's Thread

Was planning to head there Thursday. Zoomer offline and needing repairs and Mitt double not running. Will they run the tram mid-week to compensate for lack of uphill capacity or will it only be Peabody and Cannonball? Anyone have more info?

    Burke

T- minus 9 hours to departure. Thanks for the insight everyone. Will be skiing w a couple of intermediates who won't want to venture into the trees, but I'll hopefully hit the East Bowl area and other trees with one of of four who will def. want to explore with me. If weather permits (going to...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Skied the trees off Nitro/Moonshine yesterday and was pleasantly surprised about the base. It did require you turn where others did, but the more it gets skied the better it will get. The base is solid, but there is a top layer that requires power to get through. Hit the trees skiers left off...

    Burke

Thanks for the quick responses. So will plan to head to mid-Burke Lodge and look for Bear Den to start the day. Conditions look better than I expected a couple of weeks ago so looking forward to exploring a mountain and trees I've always heard a lot of, but never got a chance to ski.

    Burke

Heading to Burke on Tuesday for a day on our way to Jay for a couple of days next week. I've never skied Burke and look like we're hitting it pretty decent conditions/open terrain wise. Question - I know the lower mountain isn't really worth skiing, but can we park at mid-burke (Hotel) area...

    VAIL SUCKS

Agree that PowMow is a bit unique, but we skied untracked almost all day off the Paradise chair and had one of my best days in Utah. I was disappointed in Powder Country though as snow was sticky due to the trail's aspect. The snowcat experience is also fun, but wish the runs were a bit longer.

    Sweet Spot for Saturday?

Anyone know if the Sun Bowl is scheduled to be open tomorrow at Stratton and if so what time will the lift be open? I usually get to Stratton reasonably early (8:30 ish), but concerned about parking and trying to keep it simple. Also debating Okemo vs Stratton tomorrow. I'll be at MS on...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

Just back from 2 days at Loon. Upper Flume and Brookway opened today so easier access back to gondola and another expert run. Not a Loon regular, but we had two great days! Lots of terrain open considering the lack of snow, but their snowmaking volumes continue to impress. A couple of 30k...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Snow surfaces today were far better than I ever imagined. I had low expectations after the rain, but almost all main face runs were resurfaced with enough mm snow to make conditions enjoyable. The more the snow got skied in, the better the traction. Both North Face trails were very very...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Thanks for the updates. Sounds like they're doing what they can without mother nature cooperating. Was surprised how good it was last Tuesday for my first day out as my expectations were low, so expect the same tomorrow. Still seems like MS has the best early season options out there.

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Heading up tomorrow. Were they resurfacing any trails? Was there last week and Hop was thin but very skiable. How was it today?
