    Wachusett Tree Runs

Woods between Balance Rock and Ropers Road. A few nice turns to be had when conditions allow. Open secret but don’t let patrol see you. Pic above was from 2015. You will need 3 ft plus to ski Pine Hill trail now, there’s all these rock steps they put in. I’ve all gotten some good turn to the...

Best expert chairlifts in new england

Freezer at Jay Red at Magic (yes black line flattens out - mercifully IMO - towards the bottom) Burke’s summit chair (yes the glades have runout but I still think it counts) Damn I miss skiing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you could be skiing anywhere in the world today, where would you ski.

Rate the season( trying to ignore virus)

Worst season for me in the 30 years I have been skiing. Conditions were marginal at best every time I was out, even at Deer Valley. Even my one powder day was over brutal boilerplate. And then layer COVID-19 on top of it. Jeez. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fly vs Drive: Break even point

Re: Porsche as ski car I remember a couple that used to drive from NYC to the Loaf every other weekend in the 90s, their conveyance of choice was a silver 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 with a ski rack. I always thought that was so cool whenever I would see it in the hotel parking lot. Sent from...

    Best Base Area Bars

I was a jr patroller @ Klein Innsbruck in 1993-94 (10th grade). I took my medical course there in the spring of 93 and passed the practicum in June 93 at Wachusset. In fact, the day of my exam the Coppertop lounge area still had all the presentations up for the “big expansion” Wawa had recently...

    The NEW Magic Mountain

I was there on a holiday Monday a couple of weeks ago, with a race going on to boot, yet Red was never more than a 5 minute wait. Full parking lot. Not a single spider incident either, try that at Stratton. Problem? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Best Base Area Bars

Never been to Bolton (hoping to get there someday) but I wholeheartedly endorse the other two. Maybe throw in Bear Den or any number of places at Sugarloaf, too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The NEW Magic Mountain

Thinking about taking my dad to Magic on Monday. He’s pushing 70, skis blue groomers. How are conditions on the East side? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New storm on the way

Was at Deer Valley this week when SLC got a foot. DV and Park City got maybe 2”. It was sunny and 40s Sunday, then 0 to 10 F M - T. I heard it dumped at Alta. Oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great hill and always love to see other discovering it. Can’t wait to get there after a dump this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The NEW Magic Mountain

I prefer the Ween side project “Moistboyz.” Unbelievably mindless metal. In high school (class of 96), a classmate heard I was into weird stuff and gave me a tape with 2 seminal 70s NYC albums on it: Richard Hell and the Voidoids ‘Blank Generation’ and Johnny Thunders Heartbreakers...

How was the base under the fresh, Kusty? Thought about Burke for today, love those trees. Spent a lot of time in caveman, throbulator etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cannon was a zoo today. The trails were like a Saturday at Wachusset, just ridiculous with people. Tough visibility, pow/chowder/dirt/boilerplate/glare ice. Looking forward to returning there when are buried on a bluebird day in say, March. Lift lines were actually more or less non existent...
