After the unexpected day at Deer Valley we skied the 23rd and 24th over at Park City proper. I've skied Park City a number of times so I'm very familiar with both mountains at this point. Making your way over from the Canyons via the Quicksilver Gondola is not that big of a deal and is what we did the 23rd and 24th to get there. The lines both days were non-existent at the resort which was kind of shocking. I was at Crested Butte two Christmas Eve's ago and even the lines there at the bases were long. We didn't wait in a single line even getting on at the base or at any of the mid-mountain ckoke points the last 2 days. In any event our first day was a trip over to the Motherload Meadows, the Thanes Chair, and the Jupiter lift to hit all the best unmarked tree skiing at the resort. I have to say, Park City is incredibly underrated for trees, if you know where your going this place is one of my absolute favorite places in the country to ski trees if the snow is good. The combination of on and off the map tree skiing is really unmatched. The conditions on the 23rd and 24th were packed powder with some leftover pockets of untouched snow within the trees. Some areas of the mountain were still thin in the woods but for the most part the tree skiing was great for this early in the season. Below are some of my better photos from our first day.....
