I will be up there in a few hours and will let you know how it is. :)
If anything they will open gatehouse later tomorrow. The guns may not be on now but they will be soon. Pushover and slowpoke has guns on now higher up. No way they will open Ellen to the public. If anything it will be GMVS and other racers.

Over/Under Sugarbush opens upper mtn Ellen tomorrow. They are running GMX and blasting the top of the mtn.

Blasting the top of ME at this point is completely normal every year. I agree with Hawk that if anything, they would open upper ME for GMVS and not the public. I'd expect they will stick with the plan of Gate House for Sunday.

Yep. Then when Inverness is done (which GMVS pays extra for) they will be back there when ME opens to public (assuming temps allow for it.

Fingers crossed for both mountains

I know Thanksgiving weekends aren't huge revenue producers but I wonder how much revenue Sugarbush is going to loose this weekend. They lost any weekend ticket sales, Food sales and I alot of alcohol sales. The owners at Clay Brook can't be too happy. Claybrook usually offers cheap ski and stay packages. How much revenue did this decision cost the Claybrook owners?

Just saying.....

I know the focus is the snow and the lifts, but I wish they could keep tabs on the webcams...would love to see progress with snowmaking and just enjoy the views, but Allyn's has the wiper frozen to the lens, and two others are 'down for maintenance' for the past several days. Competitors' cams (Killington, Stowe) are all operating. Seems like this i their front-line marketing and it does not show well.

I'm surprised to see all the guns at LP off already. Base area around GH only had guns on for about 12 hours...

The Northlinx, slidebrook and gatehouse cams are working. I can see the top and the bottom. It is 29 here right now at 9:15 at the bottom. Guns were off this morning. I am wondering if they had issues.

1:10 PM: We have made the tough decision to delay our Opening Day to Wednesday, December 4th. As much as we want to get you all skiing and riding as soon as possible, we just don't feel comfortable with the on hill product as it currently stands. A couple of extra days of snowmaking, with great temps this week, will get us to a level where we feel confident in providing an enjoyable and safe product. We know this isn't what everyone wants to hear, but we believe it's the best decision to make When we do open, we anticipate the Gate House Quad with Pushover, Slowpoke, Sugarbear Road, and Lower Hot Shot. The first 250 people in line on Wednesday morning will get a special Opening Day hat and breakfast sandwich. Wax those skis and boards, unearth your snow pants, and get stoked to rip some early season laps.

Once we move on from Gate House, snowmakers will shift their focus towards Valley House as we expand terrain. Heaven's Gate will then be next, which we expect to have spinning by mid-December. We'll also soon start making snow on Inverness at Mt. Ellen. Please refrain from any and all uphill travel. Mountain operations are ongoing at both mountains and uphill routes are not yet open.

Meanwhile Killington has 35 trails open top to bottom.
Going to be pretty embarrassing to Sugarbush when Wachusett opens before them

Pathetic at best! O & by the way, no skinning, just to bust our balls a little more.
