Today I plan to put on all the apparel I bought during the summer, estimate how much weight I need to lose, and start conditioning

My girlfriend is a snob and only drinks topo Chico. I like them but don’t need to only have them. I buy lime lecroix and unflavored polar in bulk. I should get a stream. I like Saratoga sparkling at a restaurant.

Edibles are absorbed in the liver vs the lungs from smoking so tolerance to one is not equal to the other. Also some people lack the enzymes to digest THC so edibles have weaker/no effect on them.

So my mother in law grows a bunch of flower in her greenhouse... a few years ago while my family was at their house on Cape Cod, my kids, who were mid teens at the time, grabbed a brownie from the "special" pan my mother in law had made! Was funny to watch!

They now ask when they're at my MIL's house or she comes with baked goods to our house, if these are "Betsy" (my MIL's name) brownies or regular brownies! 🤣🤣

If you haven't bought a Soda Stream, consider it. I find the seltzer it produces is way better than can be purchased bottled or canned. Cheaper and less waste too. I buy polar on the road, but use the soda stream with lemon or lime slices at home. Drink a couple liters a day of it.

I'm basically black coffee until 10, seltzer until near bed time, then regular still water
We do the stream at home too, although I prefer the Polar Lemon can.
Never been a coffee drinker.

Interesting
That is interesting, never heard it. Edibles are great for me but I’m acquainted with someone who won’t give up the smoke, claiming that edibles simply don't work on them. Always been skeptical of that.

I have a 20 year old yoga routine I do and I’m prone to watching Always Sunny or Archer while doing it. Has to be something verbal and funny on the TV. Makes the time go by, because the routine can bore me.

I had a bad ski crash mid-February; but I was rehabbing well. Back to work, no lifting limits, most things I lift at work are 30ibs or less; but occasionally up to 80lbs. Climbing ladder to put away stock or down-stock, crouching to face shelves and/or stock product, so I am active at work, and I average around 12K steps a day too. We were walking 3-7 miles once or twice a week. I was stretching, doing my PT exercises and planned to keep doing them. My goal was to lose 20-30ibs. We had plans for summer hikes, canoeing, taking walks etc.
I do drink; but not daily, probably haven't had a drink in a month or so, just haven't felt like it, I have plenty around, beer, wine hard-pop (rum, tequila, whiskey etc.) when I do it is usually 1-2. When I was younger (under 50) 3-4 daily was not uncommon: but 4 drinks now I'd be wasted.
I was looking forward to looking better, and sporting some new ski duds, probably skiing better too.
Then in late May I had an abdominal surgery, followed by another in Oct. I'm doing fine, starting PT for the second time this year; but all my efforts last spring are toast, and I will be out of shape come ski season. .
I will ski this year! Much more slowly and taking breaks, being more social with my ski buddies instead of packing in runs (an obsession of mine since I was a teenager, get in every run you can)
Will I fit my new dud? Well, I still have my old ones to use.
Plan for 2026, exercise regularly, cut back on sweets and carbs, lose that 20-30 or more pounds, walk at least 3 miles three times a week, keep doing the PT exercises and stretches and lust keep it up. I have friends who I ski with who are in their 80s and they take 20-30 mile bike rides. I haven't ridden I bike more than 5 miles in probably 35 years or more; but I used to do 20 mile rides all the time, That would be another goal

Two to three Edible for that long mellow buzz, vape pen for the quick buzz, rolling a shameless doobie for the quick blast. Thing is I put it out after 2-4 hits; but it is always hanging out for the next light. Light Up or Leave Me Alone.

Well sure, prohibition didn't work either, so I'm really not expecting much of a real change with a guidance change. Hell, many people in Canada are probably completely unaware of their change.

But I think a recommendation that 2 drinks per day is somehow okay for you is pretty irresponsible.

Here's a pretty good article on Canada's change. It's hard to argue against

You know, one day it is red wine is bad for you, next it is good for you, one day butter is bad, then good, finally what I have said all along margarine is bad for you, butter is better. Ok to drink a couple glasses of wine a day, then daily alcohol consumption is bad for you.

Now I am not advocating one way or the other; but I am saying that the information seems to shift about a lot.
We do know that heavy drinking (4-6+ drinks a day for years) damages the liver.
Other than that, it varies person to person just like everything else. Actually, the trend in United States of Yankee Land is much less alcohol consumption, recently hitting a 90 year low, Younger adults are drinking less, beer consumption is down, Sales are down since 2022. Consumption rates vary by age demographic. Cost, health consciousness, alcohol alternatives ie. NA Beer, Seltzers etc. are all contributing factors. How do I know these reports are accurate? Sales numbers and stock prices tell the story.
  • Decline in overall sales: After decades of steady growth, overall alcohol sales have entered a period of decline in the US, driven by falling consumption and sales volume.
  • Brand challenges: Companies like Anheuser-Busch InBev, Molson Coors, and Diageo have seen stock prices fall significantly, highlighting the broader challenges facing the alcohol industry.
  • Shift in consumer demand: The industry is being forced to adapt to changing consumer preferences, which now emphasize wellness, functionality, and non-alcoholic options. Brands that don't adapt risk being left behind.

I'm 2-3 cups of black coffee, still water all day long kinda guy. I don't count glasses, but always have a water bottle at work and a glass by the couch or desk at home. Rarely pop a soda, stay clear of diet soda, energy and sport drinks-those things are poison and loaded with sugar or worse things like aspartame and sucralose. My wife got a Soda Stream, and I like that just fine.
