Jesus. I know they’re putting in a show this season but it’s starting to work on me.

Anyone try converting an already-purchased Indy Pass to an add-on version at a specific hill?

I haven't done that, but I've had a good amount of contact with their guest services with the license plate stuff. They've been great, very easy to work with.

Think I'm heading there tomorrow. They're putting the effort in, time to give them my Indy business 😝
Its actually pretty decent skiing all around. Not alot of people skiing under the guns but I thought the snow was nice and silky. I did wax them up last night so maybe that helped?

Nice day at Black today. Snowmaking is focused on their late season run from the Alpine Cabin down. Hitting it double barrel right now, all day. Nice to hit some fresh snow making. Rest skiing reasonably well considering. Actually quite impressed with how well their snowmaking held up given their mostly southern exposure. Better than some an hour North that used to predominantly feature these guns.1000006374.jpg
Seeing them running these at Black today while their namesake was silent was a bit of a kick in the balls. But good on them!!

Email from Black. I may buy a lift ticket tomorrow.

We are calling it. It is time to activate our Powder Day Party plans. It is absolutely dumping at Black Mountain with no end in sight. We are looking at more than a foot of fresh over the next 24 hours. 100 % of snowmaking terrain is open, and we will let the snow accumulate on the natural trails all day and overnight, dropping the ropes first thing tomorrow morning. We expect the entire mountain to be open, including our expert hike to terrain. Other than our beginner terrain and the runouts, we will keep the groomers off the hill.

Starting at noon today through closing on Monday all Powder Day Party pricing is in effect and we have just booked live music through 5 PM both days.

$39 Lift Tickets - All ages
$19.99 pizzas
$1 Wings
$5 drafts
25% off table service meals until 7 PM

Call in sick, pull the kids from school and get to Black Mountain. The next 48 hours are shaping up to be all-time.

I would bring my your rock skis if you plan to venture off the snowmaking routes. They were completely cooked out Thursday. Even if they do get a foot, won't really base up anything with decent pitch.

So the promise of an ungroomed mountain didn’t pan out. The storm must have switched to rain at some point. They claimed 9” and everything was groomed. The hype worked because it was a busy Monday. Lines at the double got over 10 minutes so they opened the triple after noon to alleviate. Still a bunch of whales on the hill which were fun skiing with the fresh snow. Good day.

Pass pricing for next year is mostly a steal, still. For that $$ you've got part of Nov, all of Dec-Apr and maybe May and mmmaaaayyybbbe June.

I messaged with Black. You can convert an already-purchased Indy Pass to an add-on (at least at Black) but, for any hill, you have to buy the top-tier pass for Indy add-on.

$399 for the midweek. Not bad, thinking about it.

That pass pricing makes them basically the most expensive mid-tier mountain out there I believe, and is more expensive than say a Jay pass, which is objectively a better mountain.

899 is also 50 bucks off an Ikon base and is 90 more than an Epic local. If you can get it, get it I suppose.
