    VAIL SUCKS

Agree that PowMow is a bit unique, but we skied untracked almost all day off the Paradise chair and had one of my best days in Utah. I was disappointed in Powder Country though as snow was sticky due to the trail's aspect. The snowcat experience is also fun, but wish the runs were a bit longer.

    Sweet Spot for Saturday?

Anyone know if the Sun Bowl is scheduled to be open tomorrow at Stratton and if so what time will the lift be open? I usually get to Stratton reasonably early (8:30 ish), but concerned about parking and trying to keep it simple. Also debating Okemo vs Stratton tomorrow. I'll be at MS on...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

Just back from 2 days at Loon. Upper Flume and Brookway opened today so easier access back to gondola and another expert run. Not a Loon regular, but we had two great days! Lots of terrain open considering the lack of snow, but their snowmaking volumes continue to impress. A couple of 30k...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Snow surfaces today were far better than I ever imagined. I had low expectations after the rain, but almost all main face runs were resurfaced with enough mm snow to make conditions enjoyable. The more the snow got skied in, the better the traction. Both North Face trails were very very...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Thanks for the updates. Sounds like they're doing what they can without mother nature cooperating. Was surprised how good it was last Tuesday for my first day out as my expectations were low, so expect the same tomorrow. Still seems like MS has the best early season options out there.

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Heading up tomorrow. Were they resurfacing any trails? Was there last week and Hop was thin but very skiable. How was it today?

    Big Sky intel?

You are absolutely correct. Don't know why I thought it wasn't. I went back through BS trail maps (via skimap.org) and it's been on their map since 1984! Perhaps it was my challenge in trying to get to the chute I skied as it took me 3 tries as I kept on coming in too high. By looking back...

    Big Sky intel?

Was at BS last February. One of the top 2 or 3 western trips I've ever taken. We were fortunate enough to stay at the Summit at the base and were spoiled the entire week. The trip was part of a ski club trip so we were significantly discounted in order to stay there as the rates are...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Trying to get a November day in to begin the season, but wondering if anyone has information on today's conditions and whether it's worth heading up tomorrow or not. Is Hop still open? Can I park at Carinthia and use Heavy Metal to access the main mountain? Report says so, but also heard that...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

With only the Heavy metal lift running out of Carinthia, can I assume you can boot up in the lodge? Also, is the ticket window there open as I'm still waiting on my Epic Pass and may need the ticket window, assuming it's open at Carinthia, to print it for me.

A beer or drink at Lunch, a warming shot on the Lift, a sip in the Woods. Do you?? Don't you?? How far have you seen a person drink and Ski or ride??

It was early Feb last year, not BS's best snowfall season, but enough to find plenty of terrain, including off the tram. Took me three tries to find the chute I wanted to ski on Big Rock Tongue as both times prior didn't go low enough under the chair line to get to the lip. Once I got to the...

A beer or drink at Lunch, a warming shot on the Lift, a sip in the Woods. Do you?? Don't you?? How far have you seen a person drink and Ski or ride??

I rarely drink beer during a ski day, although I have had one or two a few times at lunch on trips out west. Alcohol doesn't make me a better skier, nor does it make the day more enjoyable. Now apres ski, there's nothing better than that first sip of a good ipa or really almost any beer. I...

    Indy Tour of NH

Have a planned 4 days next week in NH with plans to finally use my Indy Pass. Will be coming from northern CT to NH and staying in the Lincoln area. Current weather seems OK for the first couple of days (Tues/Wed), but wind and rain forecasted for Thursday & Friday. Not a fan of skiing in the...

    trip to sugarloaf

Sorry....Loaf. I used to be a Sugarbush homer for 30 years, but sold our place a few years ago so now free wheeling wherever and whenever. Have next week locked in due to a ski club trip so I'm going regardless of the conditions, but was looking for some recent intel. Thanks.

    trip to sugarloaf

Any recent reports from up there? Heading up late this weekend for 5 days and hoping for some decent skiing and additional terrain.

    VAIL SUCKS

When I day trip to areas such as MS, Stratton or Okemo which are all a 2+ hour drive, I usually put my base layer and ski pants on for the drive, but change into my ski socks either in the lodge (if allowed) or at the car so my feet are dry and any sweat during the drive is eliminated. I...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Was at MS yesterday and a large portable digital display on the entrance to the upper right parking lot at Carinthia very clearly stating paid parking begins on December 18th. Booted up in the Carinthia Lodge lower level (after showing my vaccination card on my phone) and the few folks there...

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

Heading up to Mt Snow tomorrow and plan to park at Carinthia lot. Is the Heavy Metal chair a reliable 9AM start? I thought I read somewhere that it sometimes runs late (understand if there's icing etc.), but I think the weather tonight into tomorrow is pretty tame. Local insights appreciated.

    Mt Snow 21-22 Season

According to their report, it sounds like they're keeping the Gulch area closed for the week to work on building out some features, so can I assume that nothing will be running/open at Carinthia this week? Heading out either tomorrow or Wednesday for day 1 and trying to decide between Stratton...
