    Does it always piss hot rain right before or on Christmas in eastern ski country or does if just seem that way?

    For now it doesn't look like anymore precip through Friday, the 30th. Won't most places have the guns on to salvage skiing post Xmas day? Maybe not what we've had the past week but hopefully edgable snow by Monday or Tuesday?

    Mostly rain in Hudson Valley. I’m going. Will take it very slow on the final push up to the mountain.

    I'm a working stiff too. Just a bit more flexible in when I can take leave. My wife is holding down the fort at home with the kids.

    As was mentioned earlier, K is booking up fast for mid-week next week. Couldn't get anything on the Access Rd. Had to book in Rutland.

    Anyone care to venture a guess on how the driving will be Monday afternoon? I'll be coming up from Long Island to ski Tues/Wed. Hopefully the roads will be salted/sanded by then.

    Your significant other...

    My wife is in to skiing and is a good skier. I'm probably at a higher level but only marginally. I can push her into more difficult terrain and she will usually be game. This year at Telluride I made her do some hike-to stuff that she struggled to get down (I didn't look like a pro either)...

    She doesn't do all of the work. I split it with her 50/50. Unlike you, my kids don't really have friends on the hill as we don't stick to a specific mountain or are not on a specific schedule. We just ski when and where we can. It definitely helps to have other kids their age to ski with...
