    Sunday River 22-23

I think Les Otten Intentionally Designed some of the lift alignments at Sunday River so that lifts could be extended or replaced with longer lifts in the future. The White Heat lift alignment extended down perfectly lines up to start at the Whitecap base. The Oz Quad if extended down lines up...

Pass math how did everyone do?

I'm currently at 17 days on full Ikon, will probably get that up to 20 days, so should end up just over $50 a day currently 4x Loon (probably 1 more day) 2x Killington (probably 1 more day) 2x Pico (probably 1 more day) 2x Stratton 2x Sugarbush 2x Snowbasin 1x Snowbird 1x Alta 1x Brighton

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Went to Sugarbush this weekend, Saturday spent all day at Lincoln, and Sunday was planning to spend all day at Ellen. But by 10am the lines for either Summit or GMX became too long for my taste. So for the first time ever I decided to take the shuttle bus between the two mountains. For...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

Just a guess, but the grading of Escape Route cutting across Stinger, might interrupt the trail into a distinct top and bottom half, where Chipper might flow through all of its intersections.

New lift, trail work proposed for Whiteface Mountain

Treeline cirque at Palisades Tahoe has a double grooved bullwheel at the midstation. So it has two separate haul ropes, but they both go around the same double groove bull wheel and use a single drive. But that lift is a Leitner Poma, I do not know if Doppelmayr builds midstations the same way.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Original North Ridge was a double, and I think it was a Poma Teardrop in the same style as Sheehan at Middlebury and Chair 2 at Saskadena 6

    Loon South Peak Expansion

They talk about it in the Storm podcast Loon Episode. At the time of the episode they did not know whether the new lodge will be a complete replacement of the existing Governors Lodge, or just a very large expansion of the existing lodge. The work has to take place west of the current lodge as...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

The cut trails are already on Google Earth. A Gondola can easily go from the phase 2 end of Riverwalk to the vicinity of the new lift.

    Offer made to buy Burke

But the vast majority of Powder Mountains acreage is made up of the snowcat and hiking terrain. Its lift served terrain is only a fraction of their advertised 8,464 Acres.

    Loon South Peak Expansion

The base of the new lift is located at the escape route lot. The original plan for the south peak learning area with 2 lifts would have had the location of the lower lift's base a little bit further west than the current single quad lift base is located. But, the new lift is still located at...

LiftBlog Reports that Smuggs and Stowe are Exploring an Interconnect Gondola

Agreed, I have never seen line at Slidebrook at Sugarbush or Tote Road at Loon, and have only ever had to wait a couple cabins for the Over Easy Gondola. Connector lifts do not need to be high capacity. Another thing that don't think has been brought up yet, is that there will need to be a...

    Killllington 🎿🏂🏂🎿🎿🏂🏂🎿😀

Superstar and Snowshed are both old Yans modified by Poma, same with Golden and Summit at Pico. Probably Snowshed and/or Superstar is going to be replaced soon and then be parted out to keep the other 2 or 3 going. Sunday River is replacing and scraping their Yan Poma hybrid this summer, Mount...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

James Niehues did make a sketch of the potential full buildout west of South Peak. From listening to the podcast, it seems like the do not yet have the land rights yet to develop beyond the learning terrain they are cutting this year. This learning terrain is slightly skewed in its layout...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

The only differnce size wise between a 4 person gondola terminal and 8 person is the gauge (width). The inside of the current building is plenty wide enough for an 8 person gondola, its the portal entry exit that might be a little tight. A Chondi would be very complicated to fit in the current...

    Loon South Peak Expansion

Loon has lacked proper learn to ski terrain. Once a beginner graduates from the magic carpet, the next step is snubber off the kissin cousin double, which has to zig zag down the mountain with sharp corners in order to maintain an easy grade. Bear claw is a great trail on its own, but all the...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

It would be odd to see GMX replaced as it is only 21 years old right now. But I know it has had a lot of issues ever since it was struck by lightning. Gatehouse could use a six pack, and the top of it could use a regrade so that it is not an uphill schlep to get to North Lynx or Slidebrook...

Maximum one-day vertical at east coast ski area

You would just have to ride Kanc 8 or 7 Brothers express once to get to north peak which both run fast as well.
