Thank you, I will. By the way, is there a way to get real discount on Utah lift tickets? Like you get in Norheast?

Utah: How bad can it be?

Does not look too bad indeed! Thank you for the links. I'd rather spend time skiing, not driving.

Utah: How bad can it be?

I need suggestions for Utah: We are leaving tomorrow, will be skiing for three days. The trip has been planned long ago and the tickets are not refundable. It lookslike Utah is having one of its driest winters ever, or at least, that is whatInternet suggests. Am I crazy thinking of driving north...

driving from SLC to jackson? to big sky?

It may be too late (or too early - depending how you look at it) but in a few weeks Silvercar opens an office at SLC. The rent AWD Audis at the rates that are lower than they competitors charge for econoboxes. Also, first time customers get a discount that I hope to use in February.

Age child can go solo at lodge?

It looks like everyone is in agreement that there is no set age limit and the ultimate answer depends on the level of maturity of a particular child. Having said that, let me take this discussion n a slightly different direction: I believe there is something wrong with the way we treat our...

Night skiing with kids - Gunstock, Pats Peak, or Crotched?

Is Gunstock going to be any better in terms of crowds?

Night skiing with kids - Gunstock, Pats Peak, or Crotched?

Where would you go for afternoon/night skiing on Saturday? To make things even worse: THIS SATURDAY??? Our team includes an old fart, two teenagers, and a 6 year old. Me and teenagers ski anything. The young one has skied maybe 4 times in his life and can do pizza reasonably well (not on...

    Need suggestions for tomorrow

No matter what the weatherman says, I plan to be skiing this weekend. :daffy: Two of us (me and the middle son) will be at Jay Sunday and Monday. We will be leaving tomorrow, ski somewhere on the way, and keep driving north. Given the weather pattern (i.e. - rain, followed by a rapid freeze...

Need help with planning: Smuggler's Notch or Sugarbush?

Every year we (an 8-grader and his father) start February vacation by taking a short (3-day) ski trip during President's Day weekend. We usually start on Sunday and go somewhere local (i.e. - WV, Cannon, or Sunapee), ski for a day and then keep driving north and ski for the next two days...

    Best family terrain

I can probably tolerate a trip to Waterville (or Loon or Cannon - all of them seem to take the same amount of time). North Conway is a bit further away - probably too far for a day trip with a 5 y.o. I almost decided to go to WV, but was worried about the crowds - they seem to be ever present...

    Best family terrain

Thanks. This was one of the places I was considering. I, actually, have never been there - how is it? How does it compare to something like Waterville or Sunapee? Is it really an easy commute from the North Shore? According to Google Maps, it is 3 minutes further away from my house than...

    Best family terrain

As my older boys ski anything now (even the stuff that intimidates me) I have not been paying attention to the trail maps lately. This Monday will be different though as I will be skiing with my younger son (a 5-year old). Who has the best beginner terrain in NH/MA? I am looking for something...

Least Appealing/Most Appealing Base Area/Access Roads

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Le Massif. You arrive, click in and start skiing - all in no more than 5 minutes. That is if you do not want to stop by the base (or should I say top) lodge. Perhaps, you should go inside though, as you might find one of the best setups out there - no...
