Please help me find a boot bag to purchase

They only have boot bags with room for a helmet, which makes it too big.

Please help me find a boot bag to purchase

OK, my situation is that I have nice small-but-big-enough trapezoidal shaped (I think) boot bag that is on its last legs, so I need to get a replacement. I bought it several years ago in Bulgaria, and the name on it says "Brugi". which means it is a cheap Chinese no-name, but it's been...

Where to buy Lorpen S.A.N.S. socks?

I bought these a few years ago in Spain and absolutely love them. However, I could not find them even at the Lorpen website. :-( They seem to be similar to these http://www.backcountry.com/lorpen-silk-thermolite-ski-socks-lor or...

    How does someone ski this?

I just can't see how this is physically possible! http://likes.com/eyecandy/15-pictures-that-will-make-your-heart-stop?s=eyJleHBfaWQiOiAyNjMwMiwgInZfaWQiOiAxMTk0MjkyOTczfQ&v=eyJjbGlja19pZCI6IDI2MTA4MDAxODUsICJwb3N0X2lkIjogMjk3Mjk2MzQsICJtIjogMCwgInQiOiAxMzg4NDQ5Nzg4LCAiaCI6IDE0MDk0NTk5fQ&page=1

    Desperate for ski pants alterations!

OK, I went to my regular alterer (because I'm short, I need to take up all my pants  ), and we came up an easy fix - just do a regular hem on the main part, and do a separate hem on the inner part (i.e., that has elastic) such that the length is taken off at the attachment to the main...

    Desperate for ski pants alterations!

OK, I got my XL size, short legs Obermeyer pants (the L size was just too tight for my 37" gut!), but the legs are still too long!  As I am currently in a very subtropical location, I may have difficulty getting someone to shorten the legs - or at least be confident that the legs...

    Need recommendation for ski pants

OK, I did some digging around and found out that Obermayer & Marker make short pants, with Obermayer's being for 27-29", so that won't be too bad for me. There is a pant with suspenders that retails for $135, but was able to get for $90.

    Need recommendation for ski pants

What about Trespass Bezzy pants? They seem to look a lot like my old pants, have the suspenders, and are inexpensive.

    Need recommendation for ski pants

    I have a 37" waist and 27" legs.

    Need recommendation for ski pants

I don't want anything fancy, and certainly don't want to pay a lot just for a name, like this North Face Enzo appears to be.

    Need recommendation for ski pants

After almost 2 decades, it's time for me to get a new pair of ski pants. I'd like to get one like my old one, which had the shape of regular pants, as opposed to a bib, and that was held up by a pair of suspenders held in by a latch on the belt line (although I'd like this new one to have...

The skiing stereotype of being well off

One of the more interesting free-lift-pass-for-work deals I've heard is the anti-avalanche crew at Crested Butte, where the workers follow a patroller doing a slow slide down tree areas in between the trails. Evidently, the work shift is until the early afternoon, and the workers get to ski the...

The skiing stereotype of being well off

For the typical flatlander, yes, skiing is an expensive sport - there's travel (typically via airline), accommodations (that most folks get on the slopes), ridiculous *American* lift ticket prices, and either buying the equipment, or renting, where even the "Rental Edge" skis are obscenely...

And the most expensive lift ticket for 2012-2013 goes to........

No, I was only there because I got flooded out from Hurricane Katrina. Since I had to live away for a while, what better place than somewhere within commuting distance to ski?

And the most expensive lift ticket for 2012-2013 goes to........

When I lived in Arvada, CO (Denver area), for the winters in the late 00's, I got the Copper Mountain season pass for $229. One year I headed out there 37 times, for about $6/day average. :D

Are we skiers helping global climate change?

Reading through the comments of an article I referenced previously in another thread, I noticed this one: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/13/us/climate-change-threatens-ski-industrys-livelihood.html What do you think? It definitely would seem ironic that skiers would be helping to bring about...

    What states DON'T have skiing?

OK, I had 13 states, and I think I need to add Kentucky, but take away Rhode Island & North Dakota, making the list: Delaware South Carolina Florida Mississippi Louisiana Arkansas Texas Oklahoma Kansas Nebraska Hawaii Kentucky It is interesting that a lot of college football powers are in...

Will New England See a New Ski Area In the Next 20 Years?

Agreed. There will never be any more dinky "family skiing" areas built in the USA. However, I can see the possibility of major resorts being developed, especially something out in Montana and other out of the way places. I hope that the selection of such an area would be done by a real skier...
