    PSA: 2024-2025 Ikon Renewal

I have never heard that cold bases has any impact on results. Skis left on the snow are the result of poor discipline and laziness, nothing else. Our coaches do not tolerate skis left on the snow, the result is kids pick up their skis. Language below or similar is included in every NHARA race...

    PSA: 2024-2025 Ikon Renewal

I have a buddy whose daughter is being recruited to play D1 college softball. He has spent the last decade flying her around the country year round to tournaments and camps only to sit on a metal bleacher and drip sweat. Absolutely brutal. Subconsciously this may have been why I pushed ski...

    PSA: 2024-2025 Ikon Renewal

Always strange to me that people assume every youth racer is wasting their time if they don't make the olympics. Do these people think kids playing basketball are wasting their time if they don't make the NBA? I never set out to be a race dad, first seasonal program was more about the...

    Indy Ski Pass

Agree, Indy makes no sense for a mountain already near capacity. WMSP with Gunstock would be a compelling product and probably drive visits to Cannon and WV more than Gunstock. Tom Day mentions Indy in recent SAM interview...

    Time to Research Passes

Boyne passes out, they moved the kids from nitro to silver at roughly the same price. next year looks like 2X Gunstock adult, 2X Gunstock youth, 1 boyne bronze, 2X boyne youth silver. $3567 all in for hopefully 300+ total ski days.

    Time to Research Passes

Boyne showing nitro for age 19 - 29 only. Has to be a separate kid pass structure for bronze and silver? Charging more for a 7 year old than 29 year old would be ridiculous.

    Your 2023-24 Ski Season Thread

Same here, have never kept track of vertical. Had every intention this summer but missed the first few days and gave up. 3M is a big number; 30K/day for 100 days. I am at 76 days with months to go but doubt I average much more than 20K/day. Spend too much time chasing kids around or helping...

    Your 2023-24 Ski Season Thread

#72 today at loon. One of the better days of the year: perfect weather, no crowds, great surface, wide open. Credit to loon running timbertown and 7 bros midweek. Nice to free ski with younger daughter for a day, back to race training with older daughter tomorrow.

    The ALTERRA SUCKS Thread

They have spent way more than Peak in Vermont. As for NH, investment has been Attitash only. Last year that Peak operated wildcat they opened October 27 and closed April 28, a six month season. Vail has been barely able to break four months; Peak always opened and closed top to bottom. There is...

Anyone planning on skiing during the eclipse?

Booked sugarloaf mountain hotel last spring. Guy who took the reservation had no idea there was an eclipse. Think the room is a one bedroom suite plus Murphy in living room. Was around $1500 all in with breakfast for three nights. Certainly more than we typically spend but hopefully a good...

Jay Peak Thread (New owners, New Future)

Ragged does not sell a blackout pass. Only pass they sold was $400 unlimited. I doubt there is a ski area in the east with multiple detach lifts that does less ski visits. Indy makes sense, I would guess they get on next year if indy wants them.

10 AM, Saturday presidents day weekend, perfect ski weather. Ragged could use every indy redemption they can get.

EVs - New Hampshire gets it right

by blower are you referring to a leaf blower or a snow blower? I bought an electric oregon chain saw and it is awesome for small jobs, still go back to the gas hog for big cuts. Tried the electric oregon weed whacker but it would not accept standard attachments, had to return it and go back to gas.

    Killllington 🎿🏂🏂🎿🎿🏂🏂🎿😀

Believe flash sale price in march was $1199 for SR but not certain. Appears I paid $1427 for two nitro passes and one bronze pass in march, would cost $1687 today. Amounts to a 15% early buy discount. Edit - think about this, the sunday river pass holder gets 50% off at powdr owned snowbird...

    Killllington 🎿🏂🏂🎿🎿🏂🏂🎿😀

Going to end up with four passes this year: ragged, gunstock midweek, boyne midweek, killington spring. Would ditch the K spring and Boyne midweek if killington offered limited reciprocity at sister mountains and spring benefit similar to boyne. Tried to shoehorn K passes for myself and kids...

Today I plan to put on all the apparel I bought during the summer, estimate how much weight I need to lose, and start conditioning

Drug overdose mortality by state. Five lowest mortality rates: Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Texas, North Dakota Five highest mortality rates: West Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kentucky, Delaware I suspect injury associated with the extractive industries are a major factor...

Today I plan to put on all the apparel I bought during the summer, estimate how much weight I need to lose, and start conditioning

One of my daughters coaches recommended eliteam, Doug Lewis held a zoom with the club and figured we would try it for a month. Been doing the workouts four nights a week since we got back from hood. Down a pant size but biggest difference is flexibility. Went to richelson a couple weeks back...
