    VAIL SUCKS

I did not see the off season pass prices that low, $500? wow... really. we will see what happens. Maybe in the East we get a good winter and the restrictions loosen up then it would be a great value. Right now it's still all sketchy and I'd say the jury is out.

    VAIL SUCKS

This is exactly why I declined to get an Epic pass after 8 seasons with a $649 Peaks Pass. This along with the Covid situation it just seemed crazy to shell out $1000+ or whatever it is now with all the unknowns and an anticipated subpar on mountain product for the 20-21 season. Masks on the...

Vail Resorts is buying Peak Resorts.

I will wear my "Trash the Triple" shirt today. these were the long sleeve t-shirts a frustrated long time pass holder printed up last season and handed them out to us at Ptarmigans lodge pub. haha. who here has one ?

Bretton Woods - SuperBowl Sunday 2/2/2020

OK thanks, good to understand that. West was great, during the lunch hour we lapped several runs and had the trails mostly to ourselves. A whole different vibe as we ended up back at the bottom of Zephyr which was an utter Cluster F. I did get a the sense the mountain is well managed, i'll go...

Bretton Woods - SuperBowl Sunday 2/2/2020

We skied BW on Superbowl Sunday, overall conditions were great, we skied mostly off West Mountain, doing the Blues and the tree skiing. Some thin cover but by and large it was a lot of fun with practically no lift lines. However, that claustrophobic Mess between the Gondola, Bethlehem...

    Squaw-Alpine Gondola supposedly a Go

Combined this would be an impressive offering on par with anything that's out there in N America. Both are epic. I agree that a full day at either one is only practical however eliminating that shuttle ride would be welcomed.

Vail Resorts is buying Peak Resorts.

the timing seems to be more than a coincidence. Also what is cut out does not seem to be an economical way to log, that being cutting distinct veins of trees out of the side of a relatively steep slope. I'd submit this is Real Estate development possibly linking into Attitash Bear Mtn trails.

Vail Resorts is buying Peak Resorts.

Is Vail expanding Attitash??? The acquisition closed on September 23, just days later a significant timber clearing operation began west of the Wandering Skis trail. As of today there are large tracks of trees taken out selectively well up the slope. It looks like either ski trails and/or...

    There you go. Precisely!

New majority owner of Peak Resorts

Not a good look for peaks. This is not surprising as their Exec team has been indifferent with how poorly there operations have been run/funded (outside of Mt Snow). Just look at Attitash as an example. Peaks clearly have had their hands full with Cash flow problems, mounting debt and funding...

Attitash (Peak Resorts LTD.) vs. Grand Summit Owners association

Peaks and their wholly owned management company running the Grand Summit appear to be trying to take control of the hotel/condo by driving the property value down running the property into the ground. Peaks trying to circumvent the agreement with owners and purchase sixteen (16!!) units with no...

Attitash (Peak Resorts LTD.) vs. Grand Summit Owners association

Peak Resorts $123M in revenue. New income of $1.2M (0.9%!) and a Mountain of debt totaling $177M. Their balance sheet is a train wreck. With those financials if they can kick around some small time condo owners on their property they'll do so, every few hundred thousand $ counts. I am afraid...

Attitash (Peak Resorts LTD.) vs. Grand Summit Owners association

What a cat fight this is turning into. Peak Resorts LTD has been screwing over the Condo owners for years, 1) Taking the lion share of rental income, now 60/40 “split” 2) Mismanaging the Hotel with a revolving door of GM’s, Three in 3 years 3) Shoddy maintenance.. epitomized by not...

SNOSEEK! thanks man. That is Solid Gold!! Exactly what I was looking for. You will save me precious time, I've got just 2 days on the mountain this trip. If we ever cross paths during Apres Ski somewhere the drinks are on me!. Cheers!

Heavenly - South Lake Tahoe. Tips or insights ????

I downloaded the pdf trailmap. It's a huge area at nearly 5k acres. It's best to get tips from those who know the mountain. I'd rather not burn a full day figuring out what trials and lifts to do. Me and my son, Advanced skiers. thanks.

Heavenly - South Lake Tahoe. Tips or insights ????

Hi There, I'll be out there St Pats day weekend. I've skied out west and have been to a few of the North shore resorts (northstar, Alpine Med, Squaw etc..) many years ago. This will be my first trip to the South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. I know they have had tremendous snow this year. Any...

    Wildcat Mountain 2016-2017 season thread

I agree. Attitash was good Saturday. I skied Wildcat yesterday(Sunday), it was awesome, great conditions. It was cold even by WC standards and apparently Saturday it was very slick at the Cat, all of that seemed to keep most people off the mountain so the trails held up excellent.

    Wildcat Mountain 2016-2017 season thread

Yes, 2 very distinct mountains, 12 miles apart and they have very different cultures. The demographics also are miles apart when you consider the the typical skiers. Running both as one entity while short staffed is going to be a disaster and i'd submit not sustainable if you are pissing off...
