yup - get a lesson - lots of reasonable options. AMC has cheap lessons at Gunstock every 2 weeks midweek, every mid-winter. Go where you can rent. I did it for a few years but making the "perfect turn" is freaking stressful unless that's all you want to do. Found it stifling and tiring...

i've been in the bowl a couple times and never successfully ridden an entire chute. Dropped the board once down Left Gully and luckily that missile didn't hit anyone badly (I recommend wearing a helmet!!!!), tomahawked down another gully. Heelside turns are more natural on steep terrain...

yah - Cannon was REALLY sweet today, as long as you stayed on the narrow/windy terrain and away from the vast expanses of wind-blown ice :) Mittersill was a fav for me today b/c nobody was there :)

now they just need a magic carpet over the saddle to Mitty :) hahaha took me 8 minutes to lug my snowboard over on Saturday but then, once at the bottom of the double, had to wait in an insane line of at least 10 minutes!!!

OK, so, today I got back to Ragged after I shoveled myself out of southern NH. Glades still had pow pockets - was REALLY amazing! I think all the glades were unroped. Some were scratchy - I think I made a couple death/survival turns on Karen's Dream as it has been on my to-do list forever...

i generally get to Ragged Sunday am for the first hour - enough time to sample and lap my favorites. Generally no waiting but it's nowhere near as empty as it has been past years. I am pleased with their snowmaking this year.... still waiting for the glades :)
