    One of those Days 3

Seems fishy since I have filmed a helicopter in slow motion and the blades still spin to fast to be clearly seen like they are in the video. Most likely they were spinning the blades very slowly and had practiced this stunt several times before they did it with actual spiking blades.

So is what your saying is the rain didn't completely ruin the snow :).... I was worried because when I left on Saturday it began to pour and continued for the next few hours.

How is the snow after Saturday's rain. I was there on Saturday and the fresh snow was great but it started to rain around 3.

    NWS 2016 / 2017 Winter forecast!

Looks good but what is also crucial for a snow filled winter is the flow of the jetstreams. This year is a big El Niño year which causes all the storms we receive to have more heat because they take a slightly southern path than usual. That is why this year we have been having rain when we...

I just ordered a pair of Kinco 901 ski mitts... I will report back with how they perform... My guess is they will perform better than regular Kincos because the '901' series is specially designed for skiing/ ski patrol.

By 'ski school building' do you mean the bobcat lodge? or the race team building?

    Wildcat 2015-16 Thread

Thanks , I am very aware that these are running water brooks and I was not planning on actually doing these areas this year unless we have a big improvement in snow quantity. I was also curious as to how patrol feels about these areas. I know they can't officially approve skiing off map, but...

    Wildcat 2015-16 Thread

On Tuesday (mid rain storm) I skied wildcat and it was pretty good despite the rain. I found a short unmarked glade off what used to be called "cat cutaway"... I have also heard of Thompson brook and Elevator shaft but I'm not sure how to get into them. Does anybody know of any other glades +...

    Black Mountain chairlift accident

I honestly don't know I haven't been up there in quite a while. Hopefully it will be fixed because almost all of their expert terrain is accessible from the red lift. If I owned black mountain my first priority would be to fix the lift ASAP because without it they will have trouble staying in...

    Black Mountain chairlift accident

What I have heard from both black mountain ski patrol and a witness who says he was in line for the lift when it crash was that no one was on the chair when it fell. They said that when the chair was coming around the turn at the bottom of the mountain it fell off. Luckily it happened when it...

    GoPros

Do they all pop directly in the gopro? Or are adapters required

But then do you have to take the gopro out of its case and plug it in to the cord on the lift?

    GoPros

I've found that the gopro batteries are great just not at all prepared for the weather. If they get below 25 degrees they will only give you ten minutes or less. Whereas at room temperature you could film for an hour straight. Personally I put it in an inner pocket of my jacket for the lift to...

    Black Mountain, NH 02/23/14

Today I went to black. First (after a warmup run) I went to the summit and skied upper galloping goose and was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a very solid snowpack and was even soft enough to hit a cliff. On the next run I went to ski Lostbo glades and was disappointed to find it was...

    Black Mountain, NH 02/23/14

Yea I agree that tight glades aren't as fun. I am not sure if it is open... When I skied black this Tuesday Lostbo glades were closed however I am not sure about black and blue. Hopefully we will get enough snow tonight for those glades to be opened.

    Black Mountain, NH 02/23/14

As a long time lover of black there is only one trail I haven't skied, black and blue. I was wondering how you think it compares to Lostbo glades. I found Lostbo glades challenging but manageable. I am kind of neverous because it looks tight and un skiable. I am pretty sure though what I am...
