the best lift lines (to ski)

Under the tram at Cannon. Its never been open when I've been there. Its got to be one of the steepest inbounds runs anywhere.

MAD RIVER GLEN: AZ Challenge 2007 Response/Feedback Thread

God do I love that place!! I missed it last season going to Utah and I'll probably miss skiing there this year as well seen as how I'm going west again. Eric is great too. I've emailed him a couple of times with questions concerns(one being the Burton buying MRG thread here) and he always...

Thoughts on Killington's shortened season (expected closing day is 4/13/2008)?

Stay at Killington peeps. Maybe rough times for a few years but those could be the glory years for those who stick around, and think of how in you'll get being there while everyone hates them. Just remember MLB baseball after the strike. Everyone hated it. Its doing alright now.(There is nothing...

    I want a Stowe pass...

thats because your too busy defending mtns like okemo and talking about the merits of real estate development on classic Vt. mtns. to hear when someone comes in and says what a great mtn a place like Stowe is. Actually its a great place for you H-Peaks. Financially elitist, curmudgeonish, and...

    Burke Mountain Update

Sounds alright. Any mountain that is going to stay competitive(except MRG of course) needs upgrades and maintenance. I just hope with the widening they're doing they leave some of the classic New England trails just as they are, sweet.

    MRG - What about snowboarders?

Go somewhere else, its that simple. The mountain is privately owned(by the shareholders) and they voted overwhelmingly not to allow snowboarders. Its not about fairness, or discrimination, or any of that. Its a cut and dry issue that has been hashed over again and again and again. If...

What ski areas will you never ski again?

WRONG-I was skiing at Okemo with a former co0worker who hooked me up w/ a free day pass. I wouldn't go there by my own decision. I was skiing on my old lockdown gear from the mid 90s and was skiing the way I used to which is "Bode Miller" fast. Thats the only way I can feel like I'm pushing that...

    Guess the ski area

Def. appears to be N.Y. And you can see some White Caps off to (I presume) the far East which could maybe be Mansfield, maybe the Presidentials. I second for Whiteface.

What ski areas will you never ski again?

Okemo, or any other Mtn. with nothing but groomers. All I can do is go way to fast for anyones own good. I almost killed a couple of people within 2-3 hours before I decided I had to slow down if I was going to make it through the day without creaming someone. I was cruising pretty good down one...

Best place on a midweek powder day...

Until it becomes the next hi-dollar destination resort along the lines of Stowe. 65-72 dollars for a lift ticket, I think not. On a powder day, midweek, definitely the glen. After that, Magic is a good mention, the Bush, Stowe. I've never skied Smuggs. Everyday is a powder day at Jay...
