Let down by my favorite NE Resort.

We splurged on a condo at Sugarloaf over MLK weekend. Monday was supposed to be the choice day, but the storm busted. Sunday night, Sugarloaf decided not to send out their groomers, which resulted in only three trails opening; they still charged full price for lift tickets. Also, Tote Road...

    Music for the bumps.

Sister Ray has always been my favorite song to listen to in the moguls. it has been a sad week for rock. Anyone else have specific songs that they associate with certain types of trails?

    Gunstock vs Ragged vs Pats

I'm contemplating getting a pass to one of these for my "day-trip" mountain next year. I'm leaning towards Gunstock because of night skiing and its slightly shorter drive time from Boston. Why should I choose Ragged over Gunstock? Is one much more aggressive in terms of opening terrain or...

    Loon Vouchers

I have 2 Loon vouchers which we are unable to use. I'm most likely heading for Loon on Friday, so my preference is to hand them off and share some turns, but otherwise I can mail them. No cost, of course. PM me. First come first served with a Friday override. Oh yeah..they are for lift tickets...

    The Burn 3/22 and 3/26.

I had meant to write about the day in the woods at the Beav, Pali at A-basin, and Lover's Leap at Vail. But...The Burn (and all of peak 10) at Breck were just crazy good.

    Ratings system in Europe

How does the European Blue/Red/Black rating system stack up against our Blue/Black system? What about width and surface? How do they impact difficulty? Out west, lots of bowls tend to be rated black, but they are often easier (due to snow) than a significantly less steep, but icy, NE blue...

    Magic Tomorrow

Anyone know what shape Magic is in? I was considering splurging on a trip there tomorrow, but don't want to if they are too deep into freeze/thaw.

    Gunstock 3/2/2007

Date(s) Skied: 3/2/2007 Resort or Ski Area: Gunstock Ski Area Conditions: Light Powder (1 to 8 inches) on top of a flat hard surface. Very good. Trip Report: Our intentions were to hit Cannon by 10am, but a delayed leaving, massive traffic on 495, etc etc ruled that out. When we learned...

    Wildcat and Bretton

I'll be skiing Cannon the 3rd week in march, but since both Bretton Woods and Wildcat have 2 for 1 on Wed, I was thinking of splurging on one of them. From a base in Lincoln or Littleton, is Wildcat worth the extra driving time and $1 lift ticket premium? Also, does anyone have any experience...

You know your dwelling too much

when you sit down to write Wee Thomas (alright, Mrs. Mad Padraic) a Valentines poem and find the words "Concave slope filled with pow" in it.
