I would think Belleayre would have the least coverage as a guess. If you tend to stick to blue trails, go with Windham. They will have have top to bottom, and it'll likely be a less crowded than Belt @ Hunter. If you are an intermediate that also enjoys black diamonds, then go to Hunter.

I'm truly impressed by the amount of terrain being opened by Hunter this year for opening day! It's such an unexpected and nice surprise :)

OK, I'll probably get flamed for this one, but I'll throw it out there. Snowboarding is more fun that skiing. I say that as someone who has always enjoyed skiing and still has nothing against it. That said, I think it's more fun to be on a board.

One more note, you can easily combine Okemo and Killington into the same trip for some more variety. They are only about 30 minutes apart from each other, and between those two places, there is plenty of terrain to keep your group busy for a long weekend.

If most of the group is not experts, consider Okemo if you don't want to fly or drive too far. It has tons of groomed terrain and usually has good coverage by January. It's about 4.5 hours from NYC. Another one that is good for a large group like yours might be Stratton. It's similar to...
