    Berkshire East 2-20-2016

Plattekill and B'East are similar…except the world class ,modern snowmaking that covers most of B'East. Biking wise, they couldn't be more different: B'East is very new school with a touch of unique NewEngland DH single track and Plattekill is, well, White Knuckle Old school…which isn't a bad...

    BEast 2/21/16

Both very true points. They made snow on Sunday Night/ monday night…pretty impressive. we just can't catch a weather break in this cursed season. However, skiing at the B'East has been mostly excellent all season…and better (in terms of surface conditions, crowds, and vibe) than anywhere...

    Downhill Biking at Berkshire East

They've already made real headway with the trail construction, it's really going to be great. Plus when you add the 30 miles of single track right around the mountain in Charlemont and another 20-30 up the road in Hawley, B'East will be one heck of a mountain bike destination.

    Berkshire East 3/24/2014

You need to start a write in campaign for moguls on their Facebook page and send it also to the customer service email. (Starting one here would help as well). They don't think people want moguls at all…really. B'East is wonderful, and one good snow-making based mogul run (after feb 15 to...

    Most Over/Under Rated Ski Trails

Underrated: Everything on Kennebago Steeps or Casablanca Glades at Saddleback, Maine All Glade Runs at Mount Snow…seriously, when the snow is in-Mt. Snow's Glades are wonderful (especially the ones to the farthest skiers left of the Northface. Starr at Stowe…yeah I know...

    10 Great Trails

Hado, you got to be feeling pretty good about seeing the Nipmuck in the top 10 (I know I am...and it's not even the best trail at Wendell!). I'd include a number of trails from Ascutney over a couple of the KT trails (South Ridge Run , Split Rock, Independence Trail...which is one long...

    Wendell State Forest (MA)

Hey, that's a great write up on Wendell. It's a place we're pretty proud of in these parts and I'm glad a visitor to the Adventure Series ride had a good time (even on the 'new' wickett pond trail-which was a questionable inclusion, but hey there was a warning sign!). I would have demo'ed the...

    Berkshire East 2/3/11

Yep, that was lower east Glades (off of Bear Run)-the one off of Mohawk (you need to traverse to the right of the orange ribbon to the wider spasces before descending) is great too-but often too bony. The second glades pictured is Upper Tomahawk-from the top of Jug-another good one. The other...

    Berkshire East 2/3/11

Great Report-you got the vibe of the B'east for sure. Here's a video from Wednesday morning shot by LiftlineRedcoat-he has a bunch of other videos that showcase the best of B'east....you won't find anything like this for Jiminy Peak. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xG8H4Auaz8 Hey The BEast, I...

Bolton Valley to Host First Ever "Gay" Ski Day

They should have one of these at Okemo, because skiing there is totally gay.:flame:

Berkshire east 1-12-11-Epic Powder on the Little Mountain That Could

Yeah I thought about hitting Lift Line first-but, Upper Comp was wide open, untouched-perfect freedom of movement and line choices...and the snow tend to be deeper along that upper right hand side where the wind deposits it. "Sides, like I said, those twin tip warrior love lift lie and deserve...

Yeah, I'm trying to delete those other two postings...I hit the send three times by mistake! OOPs How do you delete a thread-is it possible?

Berkshire east 1-12-11-Epic Powder on the Little Mountain That Could

Wow, I'm still thinking about that first run. Myself and Two B'East Patrollers stepped off the lift into knee deep blower powder (in Massachusetts!)-we bee-lined for Competition-a couple of early morning hikers had beaten us to it-but still, blankets of virgin, deep snow lay out before us. We...

    Where to go Thur/Fri

Looks like Mount Snow should pick up the best numbers from this storm among the bigger ski areas-Guaranteed plenty of ungroomed goodness on the northface and in other spots around the hill.

    Berkshire East 1/8/11

Great Photos...one of them has the back of my Helmet! We need a good dump of snow to really bring the joint to life (B'east is a totally different area when the trees are open). At least the left those big moguls on the top of Comp for a week and a half-we need to start an internet campaign to...

Done in here for a while...

wait...we need one more good damp but not icy snow and a weekend of snowmobilers to pack it down-then western mass becomes a fantastic winter riding area.

    Haystack, VT not dead

What way do you go to mount snow that passes maple valley?? (Do you mean stratton?) If it makes you feel bad, why not stop the car and climb up Maple Valley and take a free run? I've done it-plenty of fun Now back the case at hand: "Dear, God, Please make the proposed Haystack gated...

    Haystack, VT not dead

I so hope this fails. I've enjoyed a little hike and ski here over the last few years...and I liked the old Haystack (laid back, ok skiing for what it was, no frills-just the way it ought to be..and it was cheap). But Private gated ski communities with a Helipad? Go screw! (man, I hate...

    Southern New England trip...

There is still some life left in the season Here in Western, MA...The Lennox area is awesome-if you know how to link in the Yokun ridge and lennox Mountain with Kennedy Park, it becomes pretty epic (with enough big climbs and descents to please a Northern Vermonter!)-one of my favorites...
