I knew for a week that this storm would be damaging to my home town. We left at 12pm on Saturday just before it got really bad and headed to Hunter. No Leaves on the trees here.
Enjoy the pictures.

October snowstorm in the Catskills. From 12 to 16 inches. I hiked up to the top of 42nd street at 9am this morning.

Are you home yet? Do you have much damage?

We were lucky. Lost one insignificant tree that fell into the woods. A few limbs down. Most of my leaves were on the ground to start which was a good break. We got 8-10" but in higher elevations (above 800 ft or so) within 10 miles or so of me they got close to 2 ft!

Hope this is a foreshadowing of an epic winter.

The very early season dumps are always fun:roll:..as one often has to carry speed everywhere to avoid hangin' up on bottom. Where the late season fatties work well....IF you know where the rocks are..;-)
Nice TR/pics 180....
