Tahoe is hanging so far this year. Base at kirkwood is bombproof, mountain 100 percent open and a very nice two week forecast. Lower elevations not so much, we need some colder storms, which we are getting starting wednesday.
Yeah you guys have been getting it. Making up for last season. Is most of it Sierra Cement or has there been some colder stuff mixed in?
Yeah you guys are a bit ahead of us. Last I saw J-Hole had already broken the 100" mark for snow so far this year (depending on when they start counting). Alta just hit 103". The last couple warm ups effected Snowbird from Rothman's Way down...as in r&*n and thawing that refroze.
Snowbird is saying 14" last 48 hours or so with 83" so far this season, but I know that they did not start the meter until right before opening, which explains some of the discrepency with Alta.
Base depths at mid-mountain now are on the order of 34-40" or so at both places.
This last storm really helped and the lake effect is still going. This week looks good for some refreshers here.
How is Grand Targhee doing? I heard they were 100% open.
