Yeah you guys are a bit ahead of us. Last I saw J-Hole had already broken the 100" mark for snow so far this year (depending on when they start counting). Alta just hit 103". The last couple warm ups effected Snowbird from Rothman's Way down...as in r&*n and thawing that refroze.

Snowbird is saying 14" last 48 hours or so with 83" so far this season, but I know that they did not start the meter until right before opening, which explains some of the discrepency with Alta.

Base depths at mid-mountain now are on the order of 34-40" or so at both places.

This last storm really helped and the lake effect is still going. This week looks good for some refreshers here.

How is Grand Targhee doing? I heard they were 100% open.

    Wow I stand corrected....

J-Hole Summit has 128 inches so far this year, mid-mountain is at 102". Why are you not out there?

Tahoe is hanging so far this year. Base at kirkwood is bombproof, mountain 100 percent open and a very nice two week forecast. Lower elevations not so much, we need some colder storms, which we are getting starting wednesday.

Yeah you guys have been getting it. Making up for last season. Is most of it Sierra Cement or has there been some colder stuff mixed in?

The heaviest cement you could imagine. Perfect for base building. No snow at lake level, above 7k it gets deep. This snow is going nowhere. We need these cold storms coming in so i can ski home and the surface conditions improve. All the steep lines at kirkwood are skiing good although pretty firm

Targhee has been doing OK, but yes they are 100% open. This past storm was a bit of a rarity and came from more to the East, hence Jackson made out better to the tune of a foot or so.

Previous storms were wet and heavy, this past weekend all blower and cold. Mid 60 inch base depths. Whole mountain (well the stuff that matter above South Pass Traverse) is skiing like its mid-Feb.

Jackson's usually starts is season tally round mid Nov or whenever the snow actually sticks around. Usually not to much marketing built in as it runs directly off the avi/weather stations.

    Bump

over two feet fell just during the day, today. It fell on an already super soft base and by this time tomorrow night we'll likely have another couple. Things are filling in well. My last run was firebreak all the way down to the Casinos.

    How's Utah looking?

Looking real good. We're forecast to get 18-24" between now and Tuesday. Snowbird was skiing like last February. Things are filling in really nicely now. The last round of storms really helped a lot. We're going to break the 200" mark real soon.
