Just got a snowboard for my daughter who is joining her father on the dark side. I recall getting one of my boards de-tuned when it was new. Am I losing my mind or can I just mount it and let her rip?

I don't recall getting my last board de-tuned.

I haven't de-tuned any of my skis in years. With the rocker that most boards have in them now, de-tuning is not done as much.

Just to be safe if she is a new boarder run a file over the front few inches of the board, but I am sure she will be fine if you dont.

On each tip and tail file down about 4-4.5 inches depending on board size, go lightly if it has rocker and a bit more aggressive if its cambered...might be able to get away with a blue gummy stone....
