I'll give you the April Fool on the fisher cat part - busted. We don't really plan extra protection for them in this project.

This is one of the funniest fake announcements I've seen in a long time. Someone must have been planning this all year.

Just rec'd this email from Jon's Hunterskiscene blogspot:

[FONT=verdana, courier new,courier,tahoma,sans-serif]Hi All,
Today was a bonus powder day as the rain which fell in the valleys was snow up here at this altitude with temp at 28. We had 4" of nice smooth powder this am and it was fresh tracks most of the am as there was no one here to cut it up. It is corn snow now with temp at 45 and mostly clouds. Every run was great. Temps will be in the 20's for the next 3 nights. Grooming was non-existent.

The really big news is that Hunter has been sold to Killington Associates, Inc which entity has also filed plans and applied to DEC / DEP for building a golf course, hotel and luxury condos & townhouses.

Scroll down for even more big news for the mountain top.

The clues were abundant - HS Single chair, Mt Ellen being snowboard only (making the chair worthless), separate places for skier and snowboarders to play, etc.

This is definitely the best part:
He continued, “and yes, before you ask, Mount Ellen will be Snowboard-only!”
Asked how the new connector might work with the mountain-specific equipment rules, he responded, “there are still some operational details that need to be worked out.”
