    Bromley is on the small side but a fun place. shopping in Manchester for those who want a distraction and you can easily drive over to Magic for day if you were so inclined.

    should be within your driving range from NYC

    * I never stayed there.

    Bromley has possibilities, I'll have to poke around in there. Did a family ski in/out there maybe 15 years ago and it was actually pretty decent. Forgot all about it until you mentioned it. Thanks....

    If you broaden your horizons to include the upper peninsula of Michigan, you can get a slope side Yurt that sleeps ten for $265 a night at Mt Bohemia: http://www.mtbohemia.com/index.php?o...ging&Itemid=64

    Smuggs, Okemo, or even Jiminy Peak if you want a smaller mountain that's close.

    Sugarbush is an awesome place. Plus Mad River Glen is right there as well.

    Killington is killer too. I'd strongly suggest both of these options.

    I really like the skiing at Smuggs, but don't expect luxury. It's a really dumpy resort with all slow doubles.
