Carbon fiber poles are good for touring. They are light and frequently length adjustable/collapseable

I need a new pair of Eastern on-piste skis. Thinking seriously about going with a small independent brand from my local area where I can get the skis with a unique Univ of Maryland graphic (my alma mater). I demo'd several models from Kicker skis last winter and they're not bad. I have a 107mm ski for deeper days and my son also lets me borrow from his quiver when I visit him in Utah so I'm set for wider skis.
