Plenty of powder up high and we were able to ski to the trailhead. Much less snow down below though.

Not really. We skinned up to the top. Skied with skins on almost to the intersection of Long trail and Monroe trail. From there we dropped in the woods and then skied to the skiers left of the cliff you can see coming Monroe trail.
Up high it was fairly dense trees and to the left of the cliff it was steep with some small icy drops.
