I booked a room for Friday and Saturday night at Kaatskill lodge a little over a week ago with the understanding that it was undefinable.
Wednesday afternoon I received a call saying the mountain would be closed Friday and they would give me a full refund.
I didn't expect it or cared if they did because I knew what I was getting into when I made the reservation.

I'm always impressed by ski resorts always giving a refund if they are closed. Seeing all the NONREFUNDABLE warnings posted all over anything you buy makes it seem to me like they don't HAVE to refund you, but I've never not been refunded if the mountain was closed.
