Resort:
Gunstock, Gilford NH

Conditions: Packed Powder, groomed.

Report: I have to say today was one of the most fund days I have every had on the snow. My son, who turned 8 last week, has advanced just enough to be able to ski confidently on greens and some lower level blues. So today, we headed up to Gunstock, got him on a 2 hour lesson and had a blast! The majority of the day (before and after the lesson), was spent with him up on the Smith Slope and in the Penny Pod. While for the two hours, while he was getting taught, I was able to get some runs in from the top. The best part was the smiles on his face and the love of the sport he has. Proud dad here!

That's really nice - thanks for posting and for the touch of fatherly pride. I can relate. It won't be long before your boy will be skiing at your level or better. Just keep him skiing!

I'll always remember the moment when I took my two boys to the top of Upper Bubblecuffer (Sugarloaf) and semi-jokingly challenged them with: "hmm - shell we?" The entrance was quite skied off but the bumps below had plenty of snow, still, a bit of a steep drop. Without hesitation they just dropped in as if it was a race down a novice cruiser. From that moment on I knew it was my turn to keep up with them.
Maan..they grow up so fast.
