After skiing was finished up for the year at Stowe on Sunday we did two day trips up to Jay Peak on Monday and Tuesday. I had read and heard great things about Jay but had never been there before. I got my wife and son a lesson on Monday so I was able to explore the mountain on my own for 3 hours or so. The snow on Monday was a little crusty and heavy but it wasn't bad, it got better as sun came out and the day went on. I started the morning out on Timbuktu shown the the 1st two pictures then moved over to Kitz woods shown in the last two photos. Both runs were fun but you can see what I mean about the snow.20190422_091540.jpg20190422_091644.jpg20190422_093501.jpg20190422_095902.jpg

Tuesday at Jay was much better snow wise. I didn't take many pictures that day but the snow got much softer and creamier. The weather was near 70 degrees without a cloud in the ski. Jay had about 65 trails open and one of them was Tuckerman's Chute which I got to try. It's not a long run but it's very tight and steep and was definitely the toughest run for me on our trip to both Stowe and Jay. (And Sugarbush which we skied on our way up to the NE kingdom on Friday) That 1st photo is of Tuckerman's you can see how much better the snow was on Tuesday. I got a chance to ski Timbuktu and Kitz Woods again Tuesday as well which were night and day better condition wise but the run of the trip at Jay was skiing the show off glades with my family. There were some bare spots going through the woods but it made it all the more fun! We'll definitely be spending more time at Jay Peak next year!
