Actually not a lot of time. The investigation and then insurance process will take a while, then to salvage anything, reorder materials and set up. If the snowmaking control is in that building that will be a huge effort to get that moved and everything tested before the winter.

    DHS for the win!

That building was a pile of garbage anyway. Not up to code. Patched together. No surprise it burnt down.

Real question is, was it on purpose to get that insurance money. Crooked.

Thats one way to get some additional parking.... All jokes aside this was a classic Walt-inspired structure that hopefully can be saved/rebuilt to some degree

Lets just say FGBM is not wrong about its recent condition.....

Last night, Tuesday, June 4, 2019, a fire occurred at our mountain operations building. Local and regional fire departments responded quickly along with many members of our own Mount Snow & Peak Resorts staff. Luckily the fire occurred after normal business hours and no one was injured in the blaze, which consumed the south end of the building. While this did include our snowmaking staff offices, all of our snowmaking infrastructure was moved out of that building a few years ago, as part of our West Lake Water Project and so our snowmaking abilities are unaffected.

Firefighters from West Dover were joined by firefighters from East Dover, Whitingham, Wilmington, Wardsboro, Newbrook, Stratton, Brattleboro, Readsboro, Marlboro, Putney, Dummerston, Jamaica, Stamford, Townshend, Winhall, and Guilford who quickly responded to the scene and brought the fire under control overnight.

Times like this make you really appreciate those who put their lives in danger for the safety and security of others.

We’d like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the firefighters, first responders, and public safety personnel from across the region, who assisted in controlling this fire and ensuring the safety of all.

We will release further details and information as we learn more.

Glad to hear no injuries. Also glad that the snowmaking infrastructure was spared. A headache vs. a disaster?

New, much smaller building going up currently to replace the old mountain ops building. This is located on the side of the old building's foot print closest to the base lodgeIMG_20191012_085939484.jpg
