Hope nobody was inside. Was there any Olympic memorabilia in that lodge, I can’t remember.

I don't remember seeing anything inside, but I could be wrong as I didn't spent long inside either time I was there. But the deck on the outside was a great place to grab a beer in the spring. Hope they put a new lodge there.

There 100% should have been, but thank god there wasnt.

It was run as boring & as sterile as you'd expect from a government run facility, but if it was run competantly some historical treasures would have been lost. So here's to government incompetance!

I haven't been there in a while but I don't recall much Olympic Memorabilia. Just a great classic A-frame with those giant windows and fantastic views. They say it won't affect today's operations, but from the pictures I've seen it appears to be a total loss. I hope some of the same architecture will be incorporated if/when they rebuild...

And no working sprinkler system! Total loss.

I'd be looking for answers if I was a passholder or planning to buy lift tickets this season since they effectively lost 1/3 of their food service operations.

Here’s the answer: pick up a sub and a bag of chips.

See my prior post re: government run. The answer would be go pound sand & ski elsewhere, because we have no financial responsibility for this place succeeding or not.

It's such a joke that states think they can be good at running ski resorts efficiently.

I cant believe they had to go all the way to Fletcher Allen!
The 3-D cat scan images I saw posted in a snowmakers group FB page, with a link to the go fund me page for him, pretty much showed that most every bone on the right side of his face from essentially the base of his eye socket down through his cheek, upper jaw, nose and lower jaw were shattered, multiple teeth had been knocked out as well when that coupling hit him.

Definitely not the type of injuries that any hospital can handle the definitive treatment for.

My hunch is by the time he's fully reconstructed, an x-ray of the right side of his face will look an awful lot like an old school erector set building schematic. The good thing is that once he heals and his mouth can be fully restored, he should be functioning really normally! Just might be 18-24 months until all of that happens.

Just goes to show one how dangerous Snowmaking can be, and should make those of us as passionate about the sport as most of us AZ'ers are want to take the few seconds the next time we're on the hill and see snowmakers out on a gun check run slow down for a moment and take the time to thank them for what they do so that we can enjoy the sport we so love!

Also, the two hospitals on the Plattsburgh side of the lake are owned by UVM Health. The specialists for the type of surgery needed for a broken are going to be consolidated to the flagship hospital. It was either take him to UVM or likely somewhere down in Albany.
