suggestion...

with more and more folks taking digital photo's of skiing /snowsports/scenery either with point and shoots and SLRs, would it be possible to add another forum "Dark Room" to post all skiing/snow related photograhs and open discussions on how to shoot snow/settings/fstop etc...I'm a novice (Canon SLR XTI Rebel) and would appreciate the advice of more senior photogs .....just a thought...

Dido. My wife has a very nice Cannon 20D SLR that we're really just learning to use with my daughter but I would be interested in learning more of the "trade" to really get some nice outdoor winter shots. Powderfreak's photos inspire me!

would it be possible to dedicate a forum for photograhy (ski/snow/action etc) where we can learn from each other..f stops/apeture/white balance etc ...... seems more and more folks are taking digital cameras with them on their adventures, be neat to have it all in one place with open disucssions

That would be a neat idea, but I wonder if there would be enough traffic to support a dedicated forum. The approach that we've taking with this in the past is to start a few threads dedicated to the topic and see how much action they get. Then we can gauge from there. That's pretty much how we finally got a Cycling forum here, it took a while to get enough momentum.

Note: I combined this thread with the original one started in the Misc forum.

Nice camera! I had one of those until this spring when I needed some funds. Enjoy it!

I'm a big believer that less is more and won't open a new board unless there are enough topics to warrant one. There are a few photog topics, but none that I think saw enough activity to warrant a dedicated forum. Feel free to bump a few of these:

I would imagine we could also include threads on video taking and editing in this proposed sub-forum idea..
