Okay, when you get on a fixed grip chair, do you say a quick "thank you" to the liftie??

if its a good load, even an okay load, yes...if I get nailed on the calves, no...and the next lap I'll be sure to self load.

I almost always put a hand on the chair, just in case. I don't usually know if the lifty did a bad job unless my chair mates are complaining about it.

Almost always. It's a good practice. That job has got to suck some days.

Always....that is if the liftie is close enough and paying attention to hear me.

As others have said...I always reach behind me and either grab the chair frame or the chair to reduce the likihood of a calf whack.

Almost always. Worked as a liftie for a while many years ago, maybe that has something to do with it, or not.

That's why I usually make it a point to thank them. I've been on the other side of the chair, not always fun. The same reason I try to thank ticket scanners and lift corral traffic directors.

I thank them every time. The few times I get slammed in the back of the leg, I'll yell "Hey! I Take that back!!!" ...Always good for a laugh.

Don't thank them that often, but I am friendly to them, going beyond small talk. Unless they whack me in the back of the leg.

Usually.

And I say hi as I slide up to the stop sign too.

Unless they look grumpy and not holding the chair. :(
