Why is Middle Needles Eye labled a blue when you cannot get there unless you take a black . . . thank you for your expedient response . . .

I thought that lower section of old needles eye, the ungroomed and natural snow part that's adjacent to panic button was considered an intermediate rating?

Both those openings parallel to Panic Button have black diamond signs . . .

That's true...checked it out this weekend. Both were marked blues last year...

It's a pretty good uphill slog, Tom. The trail map is drawn wrong, it flows the other way, from Needles to Great Eastern. That cut over, as it exists right now, is useless. You might want to do some work there this summer, reverse its flow, and take some of the pressure off of Panic Button and Thimble into Needles.

Thanks for your reply Spin . . . may be drawn on the map, but there is no sign on Great Eastern indicating that trail is there, if you do not know it is there and are paying attention (which anyone on the green Great Easter should be doing) on the 'S' turn, you would not even see that entrance . . . and it is an uphill slog . . . Rogman has some good suggestions . . . another might be to maintain (make snow and groom) the middle "Needles" next to Panic and change it back to a blue. Again, thank you:)

Do not usually repsond to my own entries, but took the time to check out the section of Great Eastern that you, Spinmaster, refer to, and, lo and behold, there is a new blue sign at an entrance that leads to the same black area that the black entrance 50 yards back leads to. So, now we'll have people entering where they should not . . . looks blue, ends up black . . . why? Blue Needles Eye is a nice wide, long, uninterrupted trail that a lot of non-diamond skier/riders would enjoy skiing, but cannot because they cannot get there. Can you please explain this. Again, I thank you in advance for your expedient response.

Edit: Received a correction this morning regarding the Blue Needles Eye sign off Great Eastern - it has been there - not very visible and still enters into the same black area. Still awaiting a response. Thank you.
