I'm normally not a gambling man, unless I like my chances... or I know something everyone else doesn't.

In this case, I don't like my chances. I'll get more enjoyment out of the Reese's cups I'll spend the money on than the Powerball ticket...

The news says the lump-sum payoff after taxes will be $164 million. Even if you invested that in a simple savings account earning just 2% per year, the interest would be over $3.2 million annually and you'd never touch the principal. Nice.

I got plans for this money......

I hope your plans are to watch me use the money to buy a ski mountain, since I'll be winning it! I'll let you play golf there for free in the summer though... ;)

let's play virtual powerball

I am not buying a ticket, but for tonight's big money I will guess: 2-15-20-37-49 pb:19 I looked it up- there is 1-55 for the main numbers and 1-42 for powerball. What are your numbers? (real or imagined)
(edit: and if I virtually win the $320+million I will virtually share it with all of you!)

If there isn't an office pool, I'll be making a trip into NH this evening to get a quick pick.

The odds are outrageous, but they're exactly zero if you don't play... :)

Oh, I'm quite sure I'd be able to spend well over 3.2 million a year, no problem.

That makes the probability of winning about 1:21,137,943,750.

Count me out on that one. I don't win when the odds are 1 in 50.

If I win, I will no longer be searching for a new /preowned commuter econocube. I will no longer be in the market for a Chevy Aveo or Scion Xa. I am going to splurge and buy a new Honda Civic LX or VW Golf TDI.

If I win I'll be buying a transporter like they use on Star Trek, I'll have to hire a guy named Scotty to run it too... ;) I could beam myself to the top of whatever mountain I want!
