Anone know how to reset this thing. I know in older models it was a matter of holding down the trip odometer and performing an sequence of events; turn car off, turn on in accessory, count to 5, click heals, then turn motor on count to 5 scratch ass and stick finger up left nostril, doesn't work on the 08 model. The things dealers will do to get you in the shop :-?

I think you are in desperate need to put on a pair of skis and point them down hill!

Don't go there. Sunday River wasn't too bad yesterday but got spoiled quick by Winter 1.
Are you posting from the lift from an iPhone?

No luck Googling this dilema? They may as well just make it a SPEND MONEY SOON light. Besides, I'm from New Hampshire, my advice was just the way things get done around here.

Don't know about the 08's but the older ones you just make sure the odo reading is showing, not the trip meter, shut the key off, hold down the trip reset button, turn key on and continue to hold till the light goes out. Usually takes about 15 to 20 seconds for lite to go out.

Just the man I was waiting for to respond. I've been doing that but with the trip odometer showing, I'll give your way a try.

Isn't an 08 under warranty? You might actually have something wrong.

But it still means that you need to get the oil changed! Unless it didn't get reset when it was done.

I got the oil changed at a local station that I've never been to. I asked the mechenic there to reset the light, he didn't know how to do it and told me as someone else mentioned, take it to the dealer. Saw no sense going to the dealer, and don't have the time, when I know it was only a reminder to do 5k maintenance. Once again, thanks!

If my project was a money maker, I suppose I could have real ones made. The duct tape approach, on the other hand, speaks volumes. I even keep my duct tape mended ski mittens in my bag for the days I want to blend in at Cannon or Wildcat, or look NH-distinguished at Loon.

I did upload one idea to Cafe Press and so far have made about $4.00 . The reward to my efforts is that my friends clue me in to more deals than ever.

This is good stuff. We've been wondering how to get that turned off on our '07 Sienna. Just another trick to get people to go back to the dealer for all maintenance. I'm going to give this a shot tonight.

It will work on the sienna for sure. It is also the same procedure for hondas. It tells how in the owners manual if anyone ever bothers to read them! It just takes some looking around to find.
