Their GM, and Peak Resorts main snowmaking project manager I'm sure are on a bit of a mission to bring back the credibility of Wildcat's snowmaking given the unfortunate events of the last few seasons there!

Combine that with the fact that Peak Resorts newly created position director of Eastern marketing is based in North Conway, should lead to more cool stuff like this video this year!!

Excited to get there this year. Some serious blow over on the back.

Well yes. That is typical in the Cat. People show up the day after a storm expecting powder. Instead they find wind scoured chalk and all the snow is blown into Jackson. This is one reason while all the glades are on the lower mountain. That and the damn bird.

Noted. 66.6% of my trips to Wildcat have been cut short due to power outages that caused early afternoon openings. I plan to get there more now that I know people in the area.

The one on the right is where the old gondola was. They cut a new lift line parallel to the gondola when they installed the current quad / gondola.

Not sure that is it. Attitash in the past pushed to open as early as possible but its low elevation was not great for this. Now that Cat and Attitash are marketed and ticketed together, Cat is a much better option to stretch season because of its elevation and higher snowfall/catch.

Such a sick video.

Look forward to further investment off the summit like Lift Lion and Upper Wildcat where they really need it. Wish I still knew someone there to ask what their plans are in that regard.

New pipe on those trails would be great.

A couple upper mountain glades would be amazing too if it weren't for the USFS and that damn bird

Let me help you with that...

The pipe on Upper Wildcat is ancient. It is very unlikely to hold pressure. They already made snow on half of Lift Lion last year. With fuel prices low this year that is a definitive maybe. With a limited budget, management would rather use the snowmaking budget to open earlier when demand is high rather than expand snowmaking terrain during January when nobody shows up anyways due to the cold.

Same. Was really hoping there would be another smaller round of snowmaking improvements there this year. Maybe next year! Upper Wildcat was not in play for far too long last season.

You know that they did replace something like 4 miles of pipe and also reconfigure/install some of the pumping stations, especially on the upper mountain this past summer, don't you?

That info came straight off pictures and updates on the GM's FB page

Just this past summer? What trails?

If it happened, they were very quiet about it. Last year when they replaced 9+ miles they were quite specific about the project and had a press release up on their webpage. Still there actually: http://www.skiwildcat.com/press-room.html?key=5618

I haven't read anything for improvements this summer other than new glades.
