WARREN, Vermont — On Christmas Day in 1958, Mad River Valley locals Damon and Sara Gadd along with Jack Murphy opened Sugarbush to fulfill a dream of owning a winter resort. Almost 50 years later, Sugarbush is once again owned by a trio of Vermonters who brought the resort back into local ownership and are in the process of building the first on-mountain lodging in the Bush's history. To celebrate their birthday, Sugarbush is rolling back lift ticket prices to what they were 47 years ago—only $5.50 this December 23rd.
