I cant access the thread but the title "what's your opinion of the lack of snow" caught my eye.

I dont remember 99/00 but i think everyone here can remember what happened the following year.

That might have been the year my brother and I went to Butternut only to find it has closed. We didn't even consider hiking for turns - just went for a hike instead on the facing hill. It was completely barren of snow and as I recall Butternut was very spotty.

I didn't even have a digital camera yet - or "shaped" skis. I do remember having my first steady job in five years.
