BARTLETT, NH — Attitash Resort is offering a double dose of deals on Saturday, Dec. 4. Skiers and riders who donate at least three non-perishable food items will receive a lift ticket for $20. In addition to the food drive, guests will have the opportunity to test out the latest gear and get advice from industry representatives for a $5 flat fee.
The Dinner Bell, which hosts a free community dinner every Monday from 5-6 p.m. in Conway, N.H., will be the recipient of the donated food items. The Dinner Bell is a non-profit organization that serves approximately 6000 meals per year and operates with a staff of 24 volunteers.
"We served 187 people on the Monday before Thanksgiving," said Don Miskelly, a Dinner Bell board member. "Local businesses play a key role in keeping the donations flowing. Keeping the food tasty is professional chef and Trails' End Ice Cream owner Brenda Hunsicker. She's very busy but still finds the time to volunteer."
Manufacturers who will be offering their equipment for trial include Atomic, Boeri, Head, Volkl, Rossignol, Swix, Volant, K2, Ogasaka and Elan. Lifts will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Demo Day hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A drivers License or Credit Card will be required as a deposit for the day. All Demo Day participants must have a valid lift ticket for the day or an Attitash season pass.
"Try before you buy," said Heidi Loecher-Duffy, events coordinator at Attitash. "There's no better way to make the right ski or board purchase than to get out on the mountain and compare. On Saturday you can help a good cause, get a great deal and sample this year's top equipment. If folks are looking for a reason for some early season skiing or riding, this is it."
